The Pavilion will open today between 1.30pm - 4pm to help park visitors make the most of this glorious sunshine! We’ve got everything you need to keep cool and refueled - tea, coffee, cold drinks, crisps, ice lollies and more, and toilet facilities will be open. It’s not often we get such lovely weather, so pop along and enjoy it with us!

A great wee night at tonight’s Book Club. Thank you to everyone who came along. It’s always so interesting hearing everyone’s thoughts on the read — there were very mixed reviews on our last book!

This month’s book is ‘The Long Shoe’ by Bob Mortimer, which we’ll be discussing at our next meeting on 21st July. Happy reading!

World Cup fever hit the Tuesday Club yesterday! ⚽️⚽️⚽️ We had a World Cup quiz, a game of ‘Guess the Flag’, played a football dice game, and ran a World Cup Sweepstake. Followed by hot food, drinks, cakes and biscuits.

Our next gathering is on 21st July. All welcome.

Friends of Howwood Park have 2 tickets for the World Cup Fanzone at Braehead Arena for the Scotland v Brazil game on Wednesday 24th June.

Doors open at 6pm for a massive pre-match build-up before the 11pm kick-off. The evening will feature entertainment hosted by Chris Forbes, DJ, live music, live podcasts and live broadcast on Premier Sports with a panel of Scotland Legends.

Thank you to everyone who came along to tonight’s Book Club. We had an in‑depth discussion about ‘The Nightingale’, and it was fascinating to hear everyone’s thoughts on the novel.

Our next book — ‘The Names’ by Florence Knapp — was handed out for attendees to read ahead of our next meeting on 16th June.

Our monthly Book Club meets this Tuesday at 7:30pm.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND UNLESS YOU REGISTERED AT THE SESSION ON 21ST APRIL AS WE ARE NOW FULL.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our attendees for a discussion on last month’s read, ‘The Nightingale’ by Kristin Hannah, and to hand out our next book. Please remember to bring:

• Your copy of The Nightingale to return
• Your book journal, as this will form the basis of our discussions.

On arrival, please go to the kitchen servery hatch to tick your name on the register, order your choice of drink, return your book and make a donation if you would like to.

Howwood Village Fete raffle tickets will also be on sale, so if you wish to buy one, they are £5 per book and can be purchased when you leave. Prizes include a meal for 4 at the Boarding House and £100 of Braehead shopping vouchers.

Bookings now being taken for the weekly 2 hour Crochet Classes in the Pavilion on Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm with Becky from Off The Hook. Options to book single class, a block of 3 classes or a block of 5.

Good friendly fun class with lots of new skills. Becky managed her time so well giving everyone her attention to develop a new stitch and new achievement. Nice company and chat finding out all peoples stages in crochet. Was fun will go again , Thanks Becky 🤩
