It was semi final heartache for the Greenacres squad at the Henderson Bishop today after narrowly losing to eventual winners Dumfries 1 in a final end shoot out. Barbara, Fiona,Eilidh,Sarah and Janice put on a great show all week finishing top of their group before succumbing to the young Dumfries quartet earlier.
Congratulations to the Dumfries team skipped by Layla Huntly on a great win.

GOOD LUCK 🏆

Greenacres get their Henderson Bishop challenge underway at Dumfries today with an opener against the Borders representatives at high noon.
The team features 3 key Stewarton Heather members along with 2 members from Galston Haymouth and Sorn.
Hoping to create some magic 🪄 over the next few days the team will be skipped by Babs ‘Abracabarbra’ Morton! a former World Mixed Champion, World Junior Champion and the brains behind popular Curling equipment company British Curling Supplies this team will be in good hands.
Our own Fiona Reid slots in at third and her experience will be invaluable at this event. As the current presidential First Lady she will be looking to make her on piece of club history. Childcare was threatening to derail this teams entry but some reassurances have been made with Alana promising to look after her Dad in Fiona’s absence.
Sorn favourite Eilidh Templeton plays at 2. The accountant from Tarbolton will be hoping the teams balance sheet shows some healthy results for the Greenacres rink throughout the week.
Multiple Scottish Champion, former European Champion and World Junior Champion Sarah Reid will lead off for the team. With all this success we asked her what her secret was? ‘I stole a car when I was 17!’ ………..anyway Years of playing at the top level and having the rare Reid genetics handed down from father ‘Tap back ‘Tam makes for a formidable front end.
The secret weapon is alternate player Janice Shepherd. As well as playing The 1987 Scottish Champion and 2019 Kilmaurs Show Industrial Champion will also be team manager, she will no doubt be keeping a close eye on the team to make sure they remain hydrated throughout the event. Janice has spent a couple of weeks researching various local watering holes in the Dumfries area in preparation.
