A massive thank you to everyone who came to visit us yesterday — despite the rather enthusiastic efforts of the British weather! ☔😂

We really appreciate you braving the rain and coming along to support the Lavender Line. Our volunteers had a great day, and it was lovely to see so many of you enjoying the railway.

And if you missed us yesterday, we’re OPEN TODAY!

Today we’ll be running 73140, our diesel locomotive, so why not come along for a ride, enjoy a cuppa in the Tearoom and have a browse around the station and Gift Shop? Our friends Riley's Miniature Railway will be open again as well!

After a little break, the sound of steam is returning to the Lavender Line today! 🎉

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend, which means there’s double the reason to come and visit the Lavender Line!

Sunday – STEAM!
Lady Lisa will be in steam and ready to take you on a nostalgic journey through the Sussex countryside. 🚂💨

Monday – DIESEL!
Our trusty 73140 takes over the running, giving you a different kind of railway experience.

And of course, there’s plenty more to enjoy at Isfield Station – explore the station, visit our Gift Shop, enjoy something tasty in the Tearoom and take a ride on Riley's Miniature Railway!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us at the Lavender Line today! 🚂💜

It was a fantastic day, and all our volunteers had a brilliant time. We absolutely love sharing the railway with our visitors, and your support makes all the hard work worthwhile.

We hope you enjoyed your day with us as much as we enjoyed having you! 😊

And if you missed us today, don’t worry… we’re back open on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st for the August Bank Holiday weekend! 🎉

We’re open today at the Lavender Line and our trains will be running diesel throughout the day!

Unfortunately, due to the current dry conditions and fire risk, we’re unable to run our steam engine today. We’re sorry to disappoint our steam fans, but safety has to come first. ❤️

Lady Lisa will be in the platform area for photo opportunities. 📷

So come along, enjoy a ride behind our diesel locomotive, explore Isfield Station, visit the Gift Shop and pop into our Tea Room for some refreshments. ☕🍰

Come and enjoy a day at the Lavender Line as we get the trains running with diesel traction. 🚆

And there’s a special treat waiting in the station area… 👀

Lady Lisa, our beautiful steam engine, will be on display!

So even though she won’t be hauling the train this time, you’ll still have the chance to get up close, take some photos and admire this lovely piece of railway history.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited the Lavender Line yesterday! 🚂💜

What a fantastic day it was! We were delighted to welcome so many visitors, and it's your support that keeps our volunteer-run railway going.

Our next open day is Sunday 16th August, and if the weather plays nicely, we're hoping to have our steam locomotive back in action.

🌧️ We're all doing our best rain dance for the steam engine! After all, it's probably the only time you'll hear people in Britain hoping for rain in August! 🤞🚂

And while we're looking ahead... 🎅 Don't forget our Christmas trains are now open for booking! We know it still feels like summer, but our festive trains are always popular, so we'd recommend booking early. Details of how to book are on our website.

🚂 The Lavender Line and Riley's Miniature Railway are open tomorrow – Sunday 2nd August! 🚂

Join us at beautifully restored Isfield Station (TN22 5XB) for a great family day out!

🚂 Lavender Line
Due to the current fire risk, we'll be running Class 73 (73140) diesel instead of steam. Trains depart every 30 minutes from 11:00 until 15:30 for a two-mile return journey to Worth Halt.

🚂 Riley's Miniature Railway
Open 10:00–16:00 on Platform 2. Rides are £1 per person, or enjoy unlimited rides with a £4 All Day Rover. Cash and card accepted.

Explore the historic station, visit the Grade II listed signal box, browse the gift shop, and enjoy refreshments in the tearoom, open 10:00–16:00 serving light lunches, cream teas, cakes and drinks. There's also a play area for younger visitors.

🐶 Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

🎟️ No need to book – just turn up! Free parking is available next to The Laughing Fish pub.

If you can't make this Sunday, don't worry – we have public running days throughout August, September and October, with a mixture of steam and diesel services plus special events including our Classic Car Show, Model Railway Exhibition and Halloween Special.

🌞 We're open this Sunday, 2nd August! 🚂

With the hot, dry weather continuing and the increased risk of lineside fires, we've made the decision to swap our planned steam service for 73140 this Sunday.

While we know many of you were looking forward to seeing steam, the safety of our volunteers, visitors, neighbours and the surrounding countryside has to come first. We hope you understand.

Come along and enjoy a ride behind 73140, visit our tearoom for refreshments, browse the gift shop, and soak up the atmosphere at Isfield Station. It's the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday!

🚉 First train departs at 11:00am. Tea room opens at 10am.
