Ayrshire Touring Motorcycle Club

Not just a club, but your next great adventure. We were founded in 1990 and to this day we still meet up at 7.30pm every first and third Wednesday of the month.

From the winding roads of the Ayrshire coast to the peaks of the Alps, we’re a community of riders dedicated to the open road. When a fifth Wednesday occurs, we use one day or night from this week as a social event. We use Dreghorn Community Centre near Irvine, as our venue and have a range of members including learners, advanced riders, sports and cruisers, females and non-riders with an interest in and the sport. We currently have over 30 members.

Today saw a trip to Coatbridge for 4 of us today to help and assist Scot Baby Box Appeal.

Started with breakfast in Tesco Coatbridge with the new self service and a hearty breakfast............

This then fueled us up for the rest of the morning to get into a rhythm to get stuff done, and boy did we make a dent in it.

Thanks to all the amazing staff today Marina Lyle Gail Maguire Gillian Cura as well as all the helpers.

Such a well cause and worth while charity.

Today sees us heading out for breakfast to Erskine Veterans Charity to partake in Harry's canteen over in Erskine. Breakfast for 0945 then maybe round the motorcycle dealers and clothing stores in Hillington or Glasgow.

Today I was given my first sign of Christmas, in the shape of a mince pie to go with that cuppa tea I was carrying around in the office. Well I say my first but for those that know me and being in not just one choir but 2 choirs and all those fellow choristers out there we get to start singing Christmas songs from September just so we can share this special moment with friends, family and strangers (a stranger is just a new friend you haven't been introduced to yet).

76 days to that big day and we still have
1 curry night (This Friday)
4 club nights (1st and 3rd Wed's)
10 weekends (chances of runs)

Then we have the cold days and nights, rain, snow and sun and thats probably all in the same day but, deep down we love it. So if your bike is going away for a winter slumber and the 4 wheels will be getting used more.

Sunday came along and we had 3 mucky ears.......(oops think ive spelt that wrong) heading out heading northbound. Bike day out via Inverary, Lochgilphead, Clachan bridge, Oban, Dunoon and Gourock. Unfortunately I wasn't there as i had housework and choir but these 3 legends looked like thy had an amazing day out.

Its days like this that make you feel alive.

As the weather is taking a change, we will be doing our last big run of the month this Saturday, 26th September, due to weather conditions.

We will be departing Kilmarnock McDonalds car park just off Bellfield Interchange off the A77 at 1000.

That's stands up so if you need to grab some breakfast get there earlier. This will be a run down to The Mull of Galloway where there will be various stops to stretch legs of get some scenic pics taken the no doubt stop there for some lunch.

Return will then be through Galloway Forest Park which is some lovely roads and heading homeward bounds back to Ayrshire and beyond. We will happily open this run to any of our members and supporters if you fancy a run out with us with a day hopefully filled with good banter and great roads.

I don't know about you, but I love a good old conspiracy theory. So, do we really think that man landed on the moon and called home when I can't even get 3 bars and calling mates in the next village to see if they fancy going out for a b**r of 6. Even now, I watch Tickety Tockety and can happy doom scroll seeing wires and people in NASA movies or things that don't float when they should be floating, in zero gravity. I could go on and on. Whats your thought?..........Discuss!

As most motorcycle clubs in Central Scotland would have been part, we also took part on this years The Beatson Bikers run. 8 of us attended the run for a great cause and the view of 1500 other motorists is Beatson tabards was a sight to behold.
