We support unpaid carers throughout North Ayrshire by providing practical and emotional support such as;

Information, Benefit maximization, Carers Assessments, Advocacy, Support, Training, Counseling, Stress Management, Advice, Support Groups, Learning Disabilities Liaison Worker, Signposting, Health Checks, 1:1 Support & Legal Surgeries, Time out, Group Activities.

Join us on Friday 16th for another fun session!

Come along for a fun and hands-on adventure for children aged 1-3 years and their grown ups. Perfect for little explorers curious about ships and the sea.

Expect activities, exploring, art and plenty of chances to discover maritime wonders up close. Get ready to dive into maritime STEM fun in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Location: Scottish Maritime Museum, Irvine.
Price: £5 per child *plus booking fees
Date: Last Friday of each month.

🔊Take a Break grant programme is now open for applications!

Take a Break Scotland provides cash grants to parents caring for disabled and seriously ill children and young people, aged 0 to 17.

The grant can be used for things like day trips, a short break away, travel costs, additional carer, gardening and home entertainment equipment, and much more. It aims to improve unpaid carers' quality of life and wellbeing by supporting them to access a break from the day-to-day routine of caring.

Take a Break Scotland grants are funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the charity Family Fund.

Summer Programme for Young Carers

We’ve got some exciting activities planned over the summer holidays just for Young Carers. Take a look below and see what you’d like to get involved in!

Ayr Comic Con Day Out (Ages 16+)
Carers Gateway North Ayrshire invites you to join us for an exciting day at Ayr Comic Con!
Date: Saturday 11th July 2026
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Ayr High Street
(Ayr Town Hall, The Grain Exchange & The Cutty Sark Centre)
Cost: Free entry
What to expect:
• Ultimate Geek Market (comics, Pokémon cards, action figures & more)
• Free arcade & gaming zone (retro + modern games)
• Drop-in workshops throughout the day
• Cosplay welcome – feel free to dress up!
On the day:
• Gateway staff will be there 11am–2pm, wearing costumes so they’re easy to spot
Travel:
• Please note: you’ll need to make your own way to and from the event
A great chance to relax, have fun, and meet other young carers!

Pizza & Movie Nights
Join us for a cosy night in with pizza, films, and good company!

Come along for a relaxed day out with other carers and families.
Date: Saturday 15th August
Time: 11am – 3pm

• A friendly, supportive space to meet others
• Time to relax, chat, and enjoy the outdoors
• Fun, informal activities throughout the day
What to bring:
• Picnic
• Blanket or something to sit on
A great way to connect, share experiences, and enjoy time together.
