Huge congratulations to Dame Malorie Blackman and Dame Julia Donaldson on their recognition in the King's birthday honours. The importance of their contributions to the world of children’s literature cannot be understated. It's wonderful that they will receive their honours in the National Year of Reading.
On Saturday, Julia won the Younger Children's category of the FCBG Children's Book Award with Gozzle, so it's a double celebration! Malorie won the award with Noughts and Crosses, showing how popular their books are with young readers.

And she wants out ...

Huge congratulations to Dame Malorie Blackman and Dame Julia Donaldson! 👏

We are completely delighted to see these two former Waterstones being recognised in the King's Birthday Honours this year.

They have both done so much - and continue to do so much - to help every child discover a love of reading, and we are so grateful for their ongoing support of BookTrust.

We couldn't be happier to see that being celebrated at the highest level! ✨
