Good evening to you all. A slightly earlier weekly update this week. The reason being 16 of us are on the coach trip to Greenwich tomorrow so it seems sensible to get the weekly reminders out this evening.

The extreme heat has taken it’s toll on a couple of our outdoor activities this week with croquet on Tuesday and petanque today both cancelled , which just left the Pensioners Lunch at Belstead Brook on Wednesday and the breakfast at the Viewpoint Cafe in Felixstowe on Thursday. There was an excellent turn out at Belstead Brook but our numbers were lower than usual for breakfast at the Viewpoint.

Reminders for the coming week are:

Monday 1st June - Lunch at The Mermaid. Xx is the contact. Meet at 12.15 for 12.30 pm.

Thursday 4th June - Coffee Morning at Notcutts from 10.00 am. Please let Xx know by Wednesday 3rd June if you will be coming so we know how many seats to set out and whether we will need additional seating in the main restaurant.

As usual xx will be asking for ideas for different events to be included on the new programme for June so please let xx have any information and ideas ahead of Thursday so they can include them on the draft programme that will available to peruse that morning

Monday 8th June - Lunch at The Deben Seal. Please book in with Xx by 1st June if you would like to come along.

Tuesday 9th June - Croquet at Trinity Park. 1.30 to around 3.30 pm. Please let Xx know by Monday 8th June if you will be

Tuesday 9th June - Leonora In The Morning Light. Film at The Riverside Theatre in Woodbridge. Please get in touch with Xx by 5th June if you would like to see this film. Meet at 2.20 for the film to start at 2.30 pm

That’s all folks. Have a good week

Hi everyone

Phew, it’s a bit hot ! Too hot to be doing much so I hope you are all relaxing and making the most of it.

Our week started with lunch at the Belstead Brook and then followed by a day out to Canterbury where 14 of us had a great time. Even a couple of very heavy showers didn’t stop our fun with so much to see and do it was a lovely day out. Tuesday Graham hosted a coffee morning at Glasswells and then Mel organised a get-together at Fynn Valley. Thursday was table tennis and Friday we had lunch at The Fish Dish in Felixstowe. A busy but fun week.

Onto this week’s reminders

Tuesday 26th May - Croquet at Trinity Park. Please let Xx know if you will be coming by the 25th May. Xx is a little concerned at the moment as the weather forecast is for this extremely hot weather to continue through to Tuesday and wonders how the regulars feel about playing in the heat. We also need to bear in mind it will be the day before the Suffolk Show starts and there will definitely be increased traffic around the site. 1.30 to 3.30 pm.

Wednesday 27th May - Pensioners Lunch at Belstead Brook. Xxis the contact and we should meet at 12.15 for 12.30 pm.

Thursday 28th May - Breakfast at The Viewpoint Cafe in Felixstowe. Please book in with Xx by the 26th May if you are coming along. 9.30 am.

Friday 29th May - Petanque at the Kesgrave Community Centre. You should let X x know by 27th May if you would like to join us. 10.00 am start.

Saturday 30th May - Day trip to Greenwich. 16 members are off for another day out and those booked will shortly be receiving details of pick up points and times. Any queries just give xx a call.

Monday 1st June - Lunch at The Mermaid. Please book in with xx by 25th May if you would like to come to this lunch.

Saturday 20th June - Garden Party at Felixstowe. We will shortly be starting the planning for this event and would like an idea of numbers for catering purposes. Could those of you who are interested in coming please let xx know as soon as possible.

Saturday 4th July - Hitmakers of the 60s at The Spa. Last shout for anyone wanting a ticket for this show before I book for the six of us who are already interested. Please let xx know by 30th May if you would like to join us.

Saturday 1st August - St Elizabeth Hospice Summer Ball. Two of our members are interested in going to this event but would probably only go if some others joined them. Please get back to xx by 30th May if you would like me to get tickets for you.

That’s it for this week. Enjoy the sunshine

16/05/2026

Good morning everyone

I hope you are all well and looking forward to a return to the warmer weather we are promised during the coming week. It certainly has been rather a shock in recent days with the return to what seemed like winter !

It has been a relatively quiet week with just three events starting with lunch at the Deben Seal on Monday where numbers were low but that didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Again our numbers were down a bit for croquet on Tuesday but it was good to be outdoors in the fresh air and we had some very close and exciting games. Then it was bowling on Thursday with a good turnout.

Looking ahead to the coming week your reminders are:

Sunday 17th May Lunch at Belstead Brook. We should meet at 12.15 for 12.30 pm and Xx is the contact if you have any queries.

Monday 18th May - Coach trip to Canterbury. The 14 of us travelling are all aware of the pick up times. Please be at your designated stop at least five minutes before the coach is due.

Tuesday 19th May - Coffee Morning at Glasswells. From 10.10 am. Please let Xx know if you will be coming along.

Wednesday 20th May - Coffee Morning at Fynn Valley. From 10.00 am. Please book in with Xx by 19th May if you would like to come along.

Thursday 21st May - Table Tennis at Tenpin. Please book in with Xx if you would like to play. Start time: 10.00 am

Friday 22nd May - Lunch at The Fish Dish in Felixstowe. 12.15 for 12.30 pm. Xx is the contact if you have any queries.

Wednesday 27th May - Pensioners Lunch at Belstead Brook. The closing date to book in with X x for this lunch is 20th May

Have a good week.

Hello everyone

The thirteen Scandinavian Sailors have now returned from a wonderful cruise taking in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden under clear blue skies every single day ! It was all very enjoyable but it is now down to earth with a bump.

I hope you have all had a good couple of weeks since the last weekly reminders and I look forward to hearing about all the events that have been going on. We will be meeting at Notcutts on Thursday and I will be turning my thoughts to the new programme in the next few days so would welcome your input for events for the coming weeks. Good morning everyone

Our week started off with the dance at the Woodbridge Football Club on Saturday evening where several members (and a friend) enjoyed a great evening of music and dance. Lunch on Monday was at The Deben Seal with just six of us and then we had a coffee morning at Glasswells on Tuesday where several of our regulars were missing. However we had record numbers at croquet on Tuesday and although there was a cool breeze we all enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine along with a little gentle exercise. Table tennis on Thursday where again a few regulars were missing but those playing had a very enjoyable time

Moving on to next week 2 weeks, your reminders are:

Good morning to you all

I hope you all had a good Easter and were able to enjoy the good weather. It seems we are now back to what we would normally expect for mid April but it was certainly good to have a little taste of summer !

There were just a couple of events last week, firstly a lunch at The Mermaid on Tuesday and then bowling on Thursday.

Yesterday eight of us represented Just Good Friends at a Celebration of Life for Xx who passed away earlier this year. It was a lovely opportunity to learn a little of the man who joined our group relatively recently and it became apparent that he had certainly led a very full and happy life.

Many of you have been asking after Xx and the message from him this morning is that he is making slow progress and he thanks everyone for their support.

Looking ahead your weekly reminders are as follows:

This evening - Dance at Woodbridge Football Club. .

Monday 13th April - Lunch at The Deben Seal. We should meet at 12.15 for 12.30 pm

Tuesday 14th April - Coffee Morning at Glasswells from 10.10 am. Please let Xx know by 13th April if you will be coming along.
