💜 Thank You, Kirsty 💜

As Kirsty prepares to move on to her next chapter, we've been reflecting on the impact she's had during her time with Not A Statistic Northeast CIC.

From supporting hundreds of people across our peer support groups and drop-ins, to helping us grow as an organisation, she has been an important part of our journey.

Reading her reflections, one line really stood out:

"I have shared lots of laughs during my time at Not a Statistic and have gained knowledge and experience from both the service users and my colleagues."

That's exactly what makes Not A Statistic special.

We're proud of the supportive, welcoming, and sometimes slightly chaotic environment we've built together. A place where people are accepted, encouraged, challenged, and supported to grow.

As Kirsty moves on, we're now looking for somebody new to join our team and continue that work.

Not A Statistic Northeast CIC and Not A Design Agency are looking for a Community & Creative Support Coordinator to join our growing team.

This is a unique opportunity to work across both our community mental health services and our creative social enterprise, helping us support hundreds of people across the North East while contributing to exciting creative projects.

We're looking for someone who is:

✅ Compassionate and people-focused
✅ Creative and confident using social media/Canva
✅ Proactive and able to work independently
✅ Experienced in supporting people, communities, or vulnerable groups
✅ Flexible, reliable, and willing to learn

📍 Sunderland, Washington, Houghton-le-Spring & surrounding areas
⏰ 15 Hours per Week
💷 £12.82 per hour (Real Living Wage)
📅 Closing Date: Friday 26th June 2026
📅 Interviews: Week Commencing 29th June 2026

🌈 This weekend you’ll find me at Sunderland Pride! 🌈

I’m incredibly proud to be part of OUT North East. Summer of Pride 2026 and will be hosting a stall at both the Pride Takeover at The Bridges on Saturday 6th June and the Family Fun Day at the Beacon of Light on Sunday 7th June.

As a counsellor, I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, heard and accepted for exactly who they are. That’s why being involved in Pride means so much to me (I’m excited). It’s about community, connection, visibility and celebrating people exactly as they are.

A huge thank you to OUT North East for organising Summer of Pride and for the incredible work they do throughout the year. As a leading LGBTQ+ charity, they provide outreach, support and a safe space through the ONE Centre, helping people connect, thrive and feel supported.

You don’t have to wait until things become unbearable before reaching out.

Sometimes support is simply:
☕ sitting with good people
💬 having a conversation
😅 laughing at something ridiculous for five minutes
🧠 getting a bit of breathing room from your own thoughts

We’re at The Old Rectory this afternoon from 1PM–3PM for our daytime peer support session.

No pressure.
No judgement.
Just a safe space to come exactly as you are.
