A fantastic evening celebrating the life of Dr Susan Michaelis. Thank you for having us and thank you to all who attended✨

The inugural Loraine Michaelis Foundation auction fundraiser is set to conclude on Susan Michaelis’s birthday of 28 September 2025. There are some amazing prizes being auctioned as part of the life celebration event that took place yesterday at with a fantastic tombola, talks, and music throughout the evening. 🎼 🎷🎶

The money raised will help our important ongoing research projects and public education of the work and goals of the Loraine Michaelis Foundation 🌳

The Loraine Michaelis Foundation was founded in 2021 by Captain Tristan Loraine BCAi and Dr Susan Michaelis BCA(hon)🍃to advance the education of the public into exposures to harmful and/or hazardous chemicals, particles or radiation in the environment or work place and in particular exploring the link between this and cancers, especially lobular breast cancer and work related cancers.

Both, former pilots who had been previously ill health retired due to exposures to chemicals in the workplace. Susan in 1997 and Tristan in 2006. ✈️

Susan later developed invasive lobular breast cancer in 2013 which she and her doctors linked to her work place exposure to chemicals. 🧪
Susan passed away on the 9th July 2025 🪽
