A massive thank you to our gardening volunteers for their hard work today.

It was a very busy morning clearing weeds, thistles and a good thinning out.

It is so rewarding when the visitors stop and compliment your hard work and thank you for giving your time.

A great bird ringing event this morning, lots of different birds and some very happy attendees.

This mornings birds, Song Thrush x3, Dunnock x2 Bullfinch, Wren x3, Black Cap x6,Blue Tit x2, Great Tit, Garden Warbler and a Blackbird.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks as always to Jake for an informative insight into bird ringing.

As we come to nearly the end of Volunteers Week 2026, we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers who give their time so our visitors and wildlife can enjoy the Reserve..

From those you see regularly in Herons Rest Café, the Guides in the Hides and the Gardening Group.

And to those you don't see who work behind the scenes that do so much. The Management Committee, the Trustees, both groups who ensure the Friends charity is run correctly and making those decisions that affects what our visitors see both human and wildlife.

Without these amazing people the Reserve would not be able to exist the way it does. We really do appreciate each and everyone of you for all you do.

Went for walk along the new boardwalk, it is looking stunning with so many places to sit down looking across the Reserve not the golf course.

It now exits on the path towards Sandpiper Hide.

Good to see the Trihelix again too.
