NOT LONG NOW…

The countdown is officially on until we’re back in the rehearsal room for our 2027 pantomime, Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood!

We’ve dug through the archives for a few rehearsal snaps from previous productions… featuring some definite highlights, a few lowlights, questionable rehearsal choices and plenty of moments that probably made perfect sense at the time!

There’s nothing quite like getting everyone back together, scripts in hand, and watching a show slowly go from words on a page to a full production on stage.

And we’ve got LOTS coming your way over the next few months…

So keep your eyes peeled… HPP is nearly back in the rehearsal room!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to audition. We were blown away by the talent, enthusiasm and commitment shown by every single person. The standard was incredibly high, making casting a very difficult decision!

We’re delighted to reveal our confirmed principal cast for Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood. A huge congratulations to everyone who has been cast. We can’t wait to see this fantastic company come together and bring the show to life!

24 HOURS TO GO!

This time tomorrow, we’ll be welcoming everyone to auditions for Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood!

If you’ve been thinking about coming along but haven’t quite made your mind up yet, this is your sign to take the leap!

Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping onto the stage for the very first time, we’d love to meet you. We’re looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of another fantastic Horbury Pageant Players production.

Remember, every member of our cast once stood exactly where you are now, wondering whether to walk through the door. They’re so glad they did, and you could be too.

Most importantly… come as yourself! We aren’t looking for perfection, we’re looking for people who are ready to have fun, tell a great story and become part of our HPP family.

Thinking about auditioning for Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood, but not sure what to expect? Here’s everything you need to know…

A warm welcome!
As soon as you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team and have the chance to meet some new or familiar faces. Our team will be there to have a chat while you wait and answer any questions you may have.

We’ll guide you through it!
Whether it’s your first audition or your fiftieth, the production team will explain everything so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

Your audition!
We’ll ask you to perform:
- A short monologue (around 1–2 minutes). This can be from your favourite play, musical, TV programme, film or book or even something completely different that you enjoy performing!
- A section of a song that shows off your voice. Choose something you’re comfortable singing and that lets your personality shine.

Don’t worry about being perfect, we’re far more interested in seeing your enthusiasm, confidence and potential than a perfectly polished performance.

A relaxed atmosphere!
We know auditions can feel a little daunting, but everyone in the room has been there before. Our aim is to make the experience as friendly, welcoming and enjoyable as possible.

Whether you’re hoping for a principal role, would love to be part of the ensemble, or are stepping onto the stage for the very first time, we’d love to see you.

Thinking about auditioning for Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood but still not sure? Let’s bust a few common myths…

❌ MYTH: “I’ve never been on stage before, so I won’t be good enough.”
✅ FACT: Everyone starts somewhere! We welcome performers of all experience levels and many of our members joined us with no stage experience at all.

❌ MYTH: “Auditions are scary and you’ll be on your own.”
✅ FACT: Our auditions are friendly and supportive. The production team will guide you through the process, and everyone remembers what it’s like to audition for the first time!

❌ MYTH: “I’m too old/too young to get involved.”
✅ FACT: Pantomime is for everyone! We have members ranging from age 6 to 80+ and we need a cast of all ages to bring Sherwood Forest to life, so we’d love to see you at auditions. If you’re over the age of 6 then there’s a place for you at HPP.

Now that our wonderful fundraising events are complete we are turning all our attention to our upcoming auditions for Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood.

If you’d like to be part of the Horbury Pageant Players family, just like the amazing people you see in these photos, we’d love to welcome you!

We’re looking for new members to join our friendly community theatre group. Whether you’ve been on stage for years or have never performed before, we welcome everyone aged 6+, regardless of experience. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a go!
