It was a bitterly cold morning when we set off. We heard there were crashes on the M1 at M62. The coach was lovely and warm when we got on. Made our way to Skipton via Bradford and Keighley. We arrived at 11am. We had 2.5 hours there. The outdoor market was busy, some bought woolly hats, cashmere scarves and gloves to keep us warm. There was a nice cheese and scones stall which we availed ourselves of. We then went for lunch in Dales Cottage and some in the nearby fish and chip restaurant. We then left Skipton at 1.30pm for our 0.5 hour ride to Boundary Mills Colne near Burnley. By this time the weather was less cold and the sun was shining. There was plenty of Xmas gift ideas here, coats, hats, tops, shoes, slippers, Xmas cards etc. we were now getting tired feet from all the shopping so sat down for coffee/tea and mince pies. Left at 4.30pm on the motorway, back in West Bretton at 6pm. A cold day but we all enjoyed our outing. Thanks to organisers for choosing our destination.
Thanks to Geoff for the write up. Our club’s next outing is on 17th December to the North Star in Flamborough for a Xmas lunch.
