Carers Week 2026
This week didn’t unfold the way I hoped.
I’ve been unwell, and the plans I had in mind slipped away.
But Carers Week isn’t really about posts or projects.
It’s about the people who carry so much, often quietly and alone.
Caring can take someone into very dark corners,
places of exhaustion, fear, and loneliness that most people never see.
And still, carers keep going because love leaves them no other choice.
At MIRILI, we simply try to be a place where those corners can be spoken about.
A place to sit for a while
A place to breathe.
A place where someone will listen without rushing, without judging and sometimes that can be enough for that day.
We try to help people find small steps when everything feels too much.
We try to offer calm when life becomes overwhelming.
We try to be here , whether someone walks through the door or can only manage a phone call from home.
So although this week hasn’t looked the way I imagined, the caring hasn’t stopped.
The support hasn’t stopped.
And neither have the carers who are struggling through every single day, even when their own world feels dim.
To every carer in our community:
You matter.
Your courage matters.
And you are not alone — not this week, not any week.
