⚓💙 That’s a wrap on National Cadet Week!💙⚓

What a week it’s been celebrating our cadets, volunteers and everything that makes the Sea Cadets family so special! 🥳

We finished the week with a Divisional 1s Night packed with plenty to celebrate!

🗣️ Cadet Voice – giving our cadets the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and have their say.

⭐ Juniors ranking up – a huge well done to our juniors on their achievements and progression!

🤵 PO Strong looking incredibly dapper in her 1s uniform for the very first time! We think you scrub up rather well! 😉⚓

💙 A bitter-sweet goodbye – Friday night also marked the end of an incredible chapter as Leading Cadet Sampson aged out after 8 years of her cadet journey.

Eight years of memories, friendships, challenges, opportunities and experiences that we hope you’ll carry with you for many years to come. Sampson, we wish you every success and happiness as you move on to your next chapter in life. Thank you for being part of our unit family. You may be hanging up your uniform, but you’ll always be part of the Hinckley Sea Cadets family – so don’t be a stranger!💙⚓

🇬🇧 Earlier in the week, our Unit Chair also had the privilege of attending the first National Cadets Week CFAV Recognition Dinner in London on Wednesday evening, bringing together volunteers from across all cadet forces to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time to support young people across the country.

To all our cadets, adult volunteers and supporters – thank you for everything you do. National Cadet Week may be over, but the opportunities, achievements, friendships and adventures continue all year round! 🙌

Where are the Sea Cadets today….. BURBAGE COMMON OPEN DAY! It’s open until 16:00 today. Pop and see us for a sit in a kayak, stand on the paddleboard and pick a duck to win a prize!

Pop down, there is food, stalls (please come say hi to us!) and the fire engines BIG and small

⚓ ANOTHER BUSY NIGHT AT HINCKLEY SEA CADETS ⚓

A fantastic night at the unit with something going on both on the water and on land! 🌊

🛶 Paddle Sports
We got the boating kit out again this evening as our cadets enjoyed getting stuck into paddlesports. A great way to build confidence on the water, develop teamwork and, of course, have a bit of fun! 🌊💪

🎃 A New Project Begins!
Meanwhile, back on dry land, a brand-new project has commenced… SCARECROW BUILDING!👀🌾

Our cadets are getting creative and working together to build an entry for a local competition. We can’t wait to see the final piece — although we’re not quite sure what it’s going to look like yet! 😂

🏅 A Well-Deserved Achievement!
We finished the evening by presenting Cadet O’Brien with her certificate and badge for Intermediate First Aid👏🩹

Last week was so busy that the only photos we managed to take were of the most important job… pancake making 🥞 And wow – they were very yummy!

Then it was the adults’ turn at the weekend 💪 The big clear-out has officially begun! One container completely gutted (we honestly didn’t realise how much was in there 😅). A skip is being ordered tomorrow and there’s a paint pot tip run on the to-do list too.

Roll on next month’s working party when we tackle the next container!

What a couple of weeks it’s been at TS Amazon!

Our cadets have been busy — diving into their specialisations in catering and basic seamanship, smashing a tent-building exercise on the main deck (success! 🙌), and wrapping it all up this weekend with an Intermediate Catering Course👩‍🍳⚓

That’s just what the cadets have been up to…

Behind the scenes, our amazing Unit Management Team are gearing up for a big clear-out at the unit starting next weekend, getting us ready for some very exciting news we’re hoping to share later this year 👀✨
