Over the past 12 months, we've seen grandparents build genuine friendships, support one another and find comfort in connecting with people who understand the unique grief that follows the death of a grandchild.

The group is facilitated by our bereavement counsellors and combines peer support with shared activities which have included card making, wreath making, glass fusion an essential oil workshop and lots more.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲'𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁.

We would like to Thank our friend Jordan who asked his company regarding making a charity donation, in June Centrica donated £2000 to our For Menai forever loved fund, we cannot thank them enough and how much this incredible donation will help so many families who have lost a child ❤️

The Bodie Hodges Foundation is a completely self-funded charity providing bereavement support when families need it most, with no statutory funding to fall back on.

❌ This means we receive no NHS funding and no local statutory funding. ❌

All our bereavement services, from our 1-1 counselling to peer support groups are made possible by your donations, our own fundraising events and the generosity of those who choose to support our work.

Because of the donations we receive, we have been able to expand the number of services that we offer – thank you.

The incredible amount of money raised from our London Marathon runners has seen us extend our 1-1 counselling to bereaved families of young people aged 18-25.

However, every year, we are supporting more parents, children and young people who are reaching out for support in those early days of their grief.

Being there for them depends entirely on the kindness of others.

This is such amazing news ❤️

Extending our bereavement support to include families bereaved of a young person aged 18 - 25 is something we have been working towards for a very long time.

This change means that more families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland can now access our early therapeutic specialist bereavement services.

Support that we know can make a profound difference in the most difficult moments of their life.
