Praying tthis extreme heat disappears soon! Our birds are generally doing ok but they are lucky with shade and plenty of water, moistened food and checks multiple times a day.
Today was supposed to be cooler it's hotter!
Please water areas in the shade in gardens if you can so that little birds can feed, so many creatures don't make it in this heat. Please change water daily / several times if you can and put out moistened foods.
Although we are closed to admissions we had to rescue a young rook last night a late baby that had leaped from the trees because of the heat. Pleased to say little one doing ok!

Huge thank you sent out to Nina and Andy for answering a call for help to pick up a poorly fledgling crow a few days ago.
They are true angels dropping everything to help without a second thought when I had noone else to turn to (they travelled from Leicester to Birmingham and back!)
Without people like these guys, giving little creatures a glimmer of hope I don't know what we'd do.

They transported 2 crows sadly one died soon after arrival (we didn't know the birds history 😢) and the other little crow is improving slowly ❤️‍🩹
