Hi everyone , I hope you have it in your diaries to come along and join us for a cuppa on Saturday together with a slice of homemade coffee, chocolate, carrot, lemon drizzle, fruit or apple dapple cake or perhaps a scone with clotted cream and jam.

We are so lucky to live in this lovely village and our Fun Week is something special. Most of the events are free to everyone but we need funds and "Tea and Cake" is our little team effort to raise funds.

Have you been thinking about your scarecrow idea for this years fun week ? , a few from previous years posted to give you a nudge .
My Favourite Character from Book , Comic or Nursery Rhyme is this years theme. Or just to take part , a pair of decorated wellies .
There are hamper prizes for both categories generously sponsored this year by “Uphold Advocacy “.

WDRF rules strictly apply once again to this years world cup qualifying duck race and only the pure bred Auberrow racing ducks will be given an entry form. The new time wasting rule will come in to play this year too and strictly no throwing. Especially from the back of the Chapel field and the Brookside bend where it has been common place in past years..
Our sponsors have provided great prizes once again , so please , get your ticket. They are on sale now and through out fun week.
The ducks are now in official training for 4 weeks (as pictured).

Feeling creative? We have a children's art competition as part of Fun Week, supported by Wellington Charities. The inspiration for the artworks is Wellington dovecote, an iconic building in the village. Any medium, any size, a representation of the dovecote or a piece of work inspired by it - geometry, pigeons, bricks, the weathervane on the top. There are 2 age groups: Under 10 and 10-16 (inclusive) and an array of super prizes funded by Wellington Charities Educational Foundation.

Submit your entry (with your name, age and contact details on the back) to Gill Bullock 07377728822 at Appledown Place HR4 8AU by 2pm on 25th July (or at any point before that) and the winners will be announced after the Duck Race the next day.
