Have those pesky kids grown out of their uniform again? Why not drop it off in our used uniform box and we’ll resell it on the FoC Uniform Shop?

A few rules though:
1️⃣ We can only take BRANDED Claverdon Primary School uniform at this point. Please don’t donate generic uniform. (We’re not snobs, we just don’t have enough storage space currently.)
2️⃣ Items must be in a good condition. No bean stains, pen stains or grass stains. No holes, no chewed sleeves, no dodgy elastic in the neck. We’re selling this on, so we need it to be value for money, not old rags.
3️⃣ Please put your items into a bag before leaving them in the donation box. We don’t want them getting damp and dirty in there. Throwing loose items into the box is not cool.

And if you need to source new items, do check the FoC website to see if we’ve got what you need in stock. It’s a bit like the circle of life.

Friends of Claverdon events - like our discos - don’t just happen. They’re the product of an awful lot of awesome people dedicating their time to organising, planning and executing something brilliant for the kids.

This particular one was also the handing over of the disco baton from our Queen to her protégé . We’re so grateful to Alex for her years of disco dedication and putting so many smiles on the children’s faces. You truly are one in a million 🌟

But of course it wouldn’t be possible without the couple dozen other volunteers manning check-in, picking up dance floor casualties, distributing glow sticks, policing biscuits, keeping kids hydrated and ensuring everyone stays safe and happy. Thank you all for giving up your Thursday evening for us.

See you again at the Spring disco…? 😜

We know what you’re thinking: ‘I don’t have time to volunteer to be a lunchtime supervisor!’ Nobody does, because we’ve all got jobs and lives and commitments and that is the reality of 2026.

But here’s another way to think about it: there are 190 days in the academic year and 205 families in our school community. What if we all just pitched in one lunchtime for the year? What if we went one better and asked our family members and neighbours, the retired folks in our community and the young adults looking to build a portfolio of experience as they enter the workplace if they could help out too?

What if, between us, we managed to shout about how awesome our school is and recruit one person each? Surely then we could give our hard-working teaching staff the chance to have at least 5 minutes to chow down a sandwich in lieu of a proper lunch break, right?

Also, your ego will LOVE it. The kids go absolutely mad when they spot someone they know in school but out of context. Walking through the school hall at lunchtime is not dissimilar to being a celebrity walking a red carpet. It will honestly be the most joyful hour of your week, or we’ll give you your money back.

So no, you don’t need to commit to 5 lunchtimes a week for the rest of your life. Even if you or someone you know could just lend a hand once a month or once a term it would make such a huge difference. We know that time is your most precious resource right now, but we promise this will yield a sound return on your investment.

Thanks to you lot, we danced our way to over £1,000 in contributions to Friends Of Claverdon last night!

And because of all those epic dance moves, there’s too much footage & we’re going to have to do individual extended cuts of each disco to give you all the glory you deserve.

So keep your eyes peeled over the weekend, keep nailing that Zara Larson choreo & keep being awesome advocates for our school! ✌️

It’s no surprise that schools across the country have been valiantly fighting budget cuts since 2010 and that 80% of school leaders today state they lack the necessary capital funding to maintain basic school buildings.

That’s why Friends of Claverdon are working closely with the governors and senior leadership team to ensure the longevity of Claverdon Primary School for future generations. Everything from the time dedicated to painting school walls to the pennies spent at Friends of Claverdon events is a step in the right direction, but as you know there’ll always be more to done.

The future is, quite literally, in our hands and it’s time to clasp it, protect it and pass it on to other families.

We really got into it last night at the Friends of Claverdon AGM! After a unanimous vote for Jess and Emma to be sworn in as co-chairs it was time to draw this month’s winners of Claverdon’s Got Balls (aka The 100 Club) so if you’re lucky ball number 62 or 8 then you’re about to be rolling in it!

Down to the business of fundraising: school have asked us to help with a couple of meaty projects this year, which we will share more about in due course, and our brilliant team of brains who turned up last night brought a lot of great ideas for events and incentives in the next 12 months.

There’s a lot to do and another post to follow with a list of jobs/projects that we need to assemble a selection of elite volunteers to lead on. If you think you know someone that could fit the bill, we will of course shower you with praise and affection. And in the meantime, if you’ve got any thoughts, ideas or feedback, the DM’s are open as always.
