🌟 Have Your Say on Our Village Hall! 🌟

As we start planning our budget for the next few years, we’d really love to hear from you.

We’ve already made some great improvements, including refurbishing the kitchen and toilets, upgrading internal lighting, redecorating throughout and (just this week) new curtains. And there’s more to come! Planned projects include restoring the wooden floor, new flooring in the kitchen and bar area, external repairs and redecoration, and improved outdoor lighting.

Our judge, Kirsty, did not have an easy job choosing from all the wonderful pooches who came along to our recent dog show 😍🐾 but here are our lovely winners. Congratulations to you all!

🐾 Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a lovely, relaxed afternoon yesterday 🐶 It was wonderful to see the dogs enjoying fuss, socialising in the shade, and cooling off in the paddling pools. We were able to finish all the classes while the shade lasted, with time left at the end for delicious pizza, cake, drinks, and ice cream.

With the classes and raffle, we raised £150 for Appledown Rescue, and it was great to be joined by Water Mill House Care Home. who raised funds for Waterways Experience with their own raffle.

Photos to come but, in the meantime, special thanks to our lovely local dog‑friendly businesses who kindly sponsored the rosettes - Mobsdogs, Sally Masson Photography, Happy Hounds At Home, Winnie’s Yard, BB Dog Walking and Pet Services, Dashing Hounds of Hertfordshire, Flame - Wood Fired Catering, Safe Hands - Canine Massage and Fitness, Watson’s Walkies, and Dogs At Home Dog Grooming.

Huge appreciation, also, Hemel Hempstead Ringcraft for our Miss Nash Mills and Mr Nash Mills sashes, to Five Star Trophies for donating a Best in Show trophy 🏆 and for an anonymous £50 donation which allowed us to provide some prizes for each class and Best in Show.

And last, but certainly not least, our sincere thanks to Sharon, Rosa, and Kirsty (our judge) from Hemel Hempstead & District Ringcraft Club for all their hard work in running the show once again - pictured here with our ‘Best in Show’, and Nash Mills Village Hall Trustee, Richard.

Well it is warm!! But we have loads of shade, there’s a lovely breeze, and we have paddling pools! And there’s still plenty of parking available!

Plus, we have pizza (with hand made dough) and iced matcha 😋

You don’t need a dog to pop down! Why not come and join us?!

We can’t wait to see you at our Fun Dog Show!
Just a few notes about the day…

🕚 Gates will open at midday. Please arrive for registration between 12 and 1pm. Judging will start at 1pm.

☀️ The show will be held outside. Please see our separate post about the weather!

🚘 We have limited parking within the hall car park but we will accommodate as many as possible to avoid long walks in the heat. If the car park is full, you will find on-street parking locally. (Please note that there is nowhere to wait on the road outside, so please don’t arrive before the hall gate open at midday as it will cause congestion).

🐾 A reminder of the classes is on the attached poster. £2 per class (cash only please).

🎁 We have some great raffle prizes and our friends at Water Mill House Care Home will be joining us with some goodies and a raffle too, so bring your spare coins!

🐶 Please note that all dogs must be kept on lead throughout the event.

With warm weather forecast for the weekend, we want to reassure all dog owners that arrangements will be in place to keep dogs as cool and comfortable as possible during the event. There will be water bowls, paddling pools, and the hall will be open to provide a cooler space.

However, we kindly encourage owners to consider their dog’s individual needs and how well they cope in warmer conditions before deciding to attend. The wellbeing of all dogs is our top priority. If any changes to the event are needed due to the weather, updates will be posted on this page.
