As part of the recent World Clean Up Day, we partnered with APES and local schools to produce a display about litter picking and recycling which is now up in Abbots Langley Library. Thanks to the schools who took part !

Spotlight on activities

Did you know we have activities at our Community Market tomorrow ?

You can make a bookmark with Abbots Langley Library, a recycled plastic bottle planter with Abbots in Transition and learn about chess with the Library Chess Club.

And of course we have craft and food stalls from local makers and bakers and free refreshments.

Spotlight on Craft Stalls

We have some new (to us) craft stalls at the upcoming community market as well as welcoming back some of our favourites.

We are welcoming Hay Beadiful wilth their beaded flowers and plants, and also Recrafted Design.

Back for another market are Beautifully with Kaia's gifts from recycled materials, Dee Light with a wide ranging selection of items including cards, rag wreaths and tote bags, Alin Sneha with prints and bookmarks and Sunnyside with a selection of eco-friendly products.

Spotlight on Food Stalls

This Saturday (26th) at the community market we have Fealy's Irish Bakery back again with their amazing Barmbrack and other Irish baked goods, as well as a selection of Irish groceries.

We are also welcoming John Williamson with his traditional Shetland oatcakes https://www.shetlandoatcakes.uk/ made using only pinhead oats, flour, butter, salt and water.

We also have a new to us cheese and chutney stall from Joe Rodger.

Both John and Joe are often at the Kings Langley Local Produce Market so you might have seen them there.

Litter pick your way to the Millennium Gardens between 12:30 - 1:30pm and we’ll be there to collect your litter and provide refreshments.

Water saving tips collected from people at Abbots Autumn Fest. Add more tips in the comments !
- Don't wash !
- Brick in the loo cistern
- Use shower water to fill the bath
- Put a bucket in the shower and use the water you collect to flush the loo
- Fix dripping taps asap
- Water butts
- Shorter Showers
- Knock on door while teenagers are having long showers !
- Fix leaks
- Collect water while waiting for it to heat up and put it on garden
- Turn off tap while brusing teeth
- Have your showers somewhere else !
- Use water left over from cleaning to water plants
- Put a wash tub in the sink to save excess water
