The Friends Of Harrow Weald

The Friends Of Harrow Weald Building Tomorrows parks today. Please like if you support our work Parks make the very best community centres. Parks can become an extension to our homes.

For the benefit of both the environment and park users, parks should be carbon neutral and kept free from plastic and general litter. We believe that accessible drinking water and a safe environment should be for available for everyone to enjoy. Indeed, regular users feel at home in the park and enjoy the space and freedom it provides. Parks provide open areas and facilities that offer opportuniti

es to exercise, join in events, meet, and make friends, as well as being somewhere to relax and enjoy the environment. Unfortunately, our parks often lack funding and become bogged down with bureaucracy.

May Day at the Manor — Bank Holiday Sorted

Always look on the bright side of life…

Have a great weekend — whatever you get up to…
(or just let us make the decision for you)

Another local gem alert…

How well do you really know Harrow?

This Bank Holiday, head over to Headstone Manor for May Day at the Manor a proper, feel-good, get-out-the-house kind of day.

Monday 4th May
12pm – 5pm (not early no traveling)
Family fun, music, colour, and a bit of old school charm

Now here’s the part most people don’t realise…

Right on our doorstep sits something a bit special:
the only completely moated manor house in Greater London.

The site dates back to 825, and the Manor House you see today has been standing since 1310.
(Yes… really. It’s been here longer than most of our “quick 10-minute visits”.)

And tucked into the grounds, there’s a stretch of natural water flowing through part of the wider catchment that eventually links into the Thames system.

Quiet, easy to miss… but a nice reminder that nature is doing its thing right alongside us.

Whether you’ve just moved in, lived here forever, or are simply passing through, there’s a surprising amount to discover — stories, history, and bits of local life you probably didn’t know existed.

Even better? Entry is completely free.
(Which, these days, feels like a small win.)

What’s not to like?

A proper bit of history
A peaceful setting
Something different to do
And it’s right here in Harrow
(No traffic, no ticket stress… just turn up and enjoy)

Fancy going a bit deeper?

There’s a full year-round programme of talks, tours, events, and family activities, so there’s usually something extra going on beyond just a wander.

Fresh air, a bit of history, something for the kids… and you might even learn something without meaning to.

Not a bad way to spend a Bank Holiday.

Getting to ParkLife Café at Harrow Weald Recreation Ground (aka Boxtree Park) is an adventure in itself! here is your definitive guide to finding us, no matter how you choose to travel.

🗺️ The ParkLife Transit Guide
✈️ Via Plane
We aren't saying we have our own private runway (yet), but we have a small airfield just up the road! If you're coming from further afield, TFL has kindly arranged for a "shuttle" (the bus) to bring you directly from London Heathrow Airport to our front gate. Just look for the big winged things and follow the smell of fresh sourdough.

🚆 By Train
We are strategically located away from noisy tracks.

Headstone Lane: To the west.

Harrow & Wealdstone: To the south. It’s a brisk 17-minute walk for those with long legs, or a scenic 21-minute stroll for those with shorter legs. Please measure your inseam before setting off to manage expectations.

🚌 By Bus
We are basically the VIP lounge for the Harrow Weald Bus Garage. Hop on the 140, 182, 258, 340, 640, H12, H18, N18, or N140. If the bus says "Harrow Weald," it’s basically a personal chauffeur to our doorstep.

🚗 Driving & Sat Nav
Punch HA3 6EJ or "ParkLife Café Harrow Weald" into your mechanical navigator. We are the green bit next to the bus garage. If you hit the duck pond, you’ve gone too far (or you're in a submarine).

🅿️ Parking

Lidl (Opposite): 105 minutes of free parking.

Waitrose & Iceland: 2 hours free.

Local Streets: Also free, but please park nicely so our neighbors don't get grumpy.

🚶 Walking
Look for the park! Once you arrive at the recreation ground, the entrance is tucked neatly between the fences. Follow the sound of laughter and clinking coffee cups.

🚲 By Bike
Pedal power is encouraged! We have safe storage for your trusty steed so you can enjoy your cake without worrying about your wheels.

🐘 Majestic Creatures
We welcome all creatures great and small! However, please be advised that our specialised parking for Horses and Camels is limited. If you are arriving via elephant or mythical beast, please call ahead so we can clear a spot. Alternatively, ask an AI to help you find the secret "Majestic Creature Parking" zone.

🛸 Alien Crafts
Welcome to Earth! We are delighted you chose Harrow Weald for your first contact.

Atmospheric Entry: Calibrate systems for Earth's gravity.

Target: Greater London -> Northwest -> Harrow.

Final Approach: Coordinate HA3 6EJ.

Landing Zone: Aim for the open space in Boxtree Park, but please avoid the local flora (and the volunteer pug). If your craft is larger than a standard gazebo, please call us first to avoid any intergalactic incidents with the council.

Note: ParkLife is open Wed–Sun, 10 am – 5 pm. Safe travels, Earthlings and otherwise!

Everything we do here at ParkLife Café is done with love for our community. 💛

Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all. ParkLife wishes you a bright, beautiful day — and remember, in the spirit of deep philosophical café wisdom: cold peas are not hot. (You’re welcome.)

Since we first opened our doors, we’ve welcomed people from all walks of life and from every corner of the world. That mix of stories, traditions and laughter has always been the heartbeat of ParkLife.

When we created Harmony Hub, we realised something simple but powerful: celebrating together brings us closer. The more we learn about one another’s faiths, cultures and customs, the more we see that we’re not so different after all. We share the same hopes for our families, the same care for our community, the same love for the world and nature around us — and yes, we all share the very same air.

So, to save time (and because kindness doesn’t need a diary reminder), we’d like to wish everyone a joyful year filled with celebration:

Chinese New Year: Roaring into happiness and prosperity!

Valentine’s Day: Where love knows no bounds, only endless smiles.

Mother’s Day: A tribute to the real architects of our lives.

St Patrick’s Day: Luck, laughter and maybe even a pot of gold.

Easter: A hunt for joy and sweet moments.

Eid al-Fitr: Celebration, generosity and community spirit.

Eid al-Adha: Faith, reflection and sharing with others.

Ramadan: A month of reflection, compassion and togetherness.

Passover: Breaking bread, building bridges.

Holi: Splashing colour, spreading love.

Father’s Day: Saluting the everyday heroes.

Diwali: Sparkling lights, brighter smiles.

LGBT+ Pride Month: Celebrating love in all its forms.

Black History Month: Honouring resilience, culture and stories.

Halloween: Spooktacular fun for everyone.

Vaisakhi: Harvesting joy and new beginnings.

Rosh Hashanah: Sweet hopes for the year ahead.

Chanukah: Lighting up dark nights with warmth.

Navaratri: Dancing through devotion and tradition.

Remembrance Sunday: Pausing together in gratitude and respect.

Christmas: Sharing cheer, goodwill and kindness.

And because the UK is wonderfully full of moments to gather and smile, we also celebrate:

New Year’s Day: Fresh starts and hopeful hearts.

Burns Night: Poetry, haggis and Scottish pride.

Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday): Flipping for fun.

International Women’s Day: Celebrating strength and equality.

Commonwealth Day: Unity across nations.

St George’s Day, St David’s Day & St Andrew’s Day: Homegrown heritage.

Earth Day: Caring for the planet we share.

May Day: Welcoming brighter days ahead.

VE Day: Remembering courage and peace.

Summer Solstice: Long light, shared warmth.

Windrush Day: Honouring contribution and legacy.

Refugee Week: Compassion without borders.

Harvest Festival: Gratitude for the land.

Bonfire Night: Light in the darkness (and toasted marshmallows!).

Inter Faith Week: Learning, listening and understanding.

World Kindness Day: A gentle reminder that small acts matter.

At ParkLife Café and through Harmony Hub, our message is simple:
Different traditions. Shared humanity. One community.

With love from all of us at ParkLife.

PS yes we know we missed some clebrations this is a small smaple of celbrations we all enjoy if we missed some (we know we have) please add them in the comments below

1 January 2026 · 10:00 AM

The ParkLife kettle is on.

The coffee machine is already doing its thing as you read this — producing what may well be the finest Sicilian coffee known to humans… and any passing visitors from elsewhere.

Not a coffee person? We’ve got you covered: proper builder’s tea, gentle everyday brews, flavoured teas, and even a soothing chai for those easing gently into the New Year.

And if the day calls for something a little more substantial…
why not try our homemade sourdough pizzas, homemade burgers, and cakes made with love — because January still deserves good food.

Have a fab day, whatever you’re up to. ☕🍵✨

(*Possibly subjective. Definitely excellent.)
