🎃 October half term is creeping up, and we’ve got FREE family fun happening across Harrow!

Get stuck into spooky science experiments, slime and potion making, Halloween crafts, glow-in-the-dark activities, inflatables, games, dancing and plenty more.

Our HAF Family Fun Days are a chance for children and their families to get out, have fun and enjoy half term together, with activities taking place at different venues across Harrow.

October half term is getting spooky in Harrow! 🎃

We have a series of FREE holiday camps and activities available for HAF-eligible children and young people across the borough.

For one day this half term, Be Active Sports & Clubs are bringing spooky fun to three Harrow schools, with UV zombie dodgeball, bouncy castles, slime making, Halloween science experiments, monster workshops, potion making, and more. 👻

🍂🎃 Half-term plans for the whole family?

This October half-term, we are bringing families together for two special Magna Groups HAF Family Days, with a full day of autumn and Halloween fun.

This one is for the family! Come along together, get involved in the activities and enjoy a fun day out during the half-term break.

Who can book?
The HAF programme is FREE for Reception to Year 11 children and young people who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.

Parents/carers must attend and remain on-site with their child throughout the session. Maximum ratio: 1 adult to 2 children.

Spaces are limited, and advance registration is required — so choose your ONE preferred session and get ready for an unforgettable Autumn Adventure with Magna! 🍂🎉

For many families, is a lifeline during the school holidays, giving children and young people a safe place to go, activities to enjoy and a healthy meal, all at no cost to eligible families.

But while they’re having fun and keeping busy, they’re also building skills and relationships that can stay with them beyond the holidays.

This summer, Priyan Shah from joined us as we visited HAF programmes across Harrow. What stood out to him was the communication happening everywhere: young people making friends, playing and working as a team, helping younger children and learning from each other.

As Priyan says:

“The skills that they’re building through these programmes is something that’s going to drive them to the next stage.”

We even heard about young people who had previously attended HAF coming back as volunteers. As Priyan put it, “it’s a full circle.”

DVS Foundation has been a long-standing supporter of HAF in Harrow, providing additional funding that helps extend the programme to more children and young people locally.

A great new opportunity for Harrow’s Ukrainian community 🇺🇦

Watford FC CSE Trust and Unique Community Charity have teamed up to bring Kicks United to Harrow, a free Saturday programme for young people aged 8–16 from the Ukrainian community.

There’ll be football and multisport, youth club activities and wellbeing support, with plenty of opportunities to have fun, meet other young people and make new friends.

36 providers. One borough-wide partnership behind HAF in Harrow.

This summer was our largest HAF summer programme in recent years, with new and returning organisations delivering activities and healthy food for children and young people across Harrow.

We caught up with Priya Ganatra from while visiting some of the programmes to talk about what has changed, what she saw this summer and the partnership behind making HAF happen.

Great to spend the morning with Sported, hearing about the brilliant impact the Nissan grant has had in Harrow. My Yard is always a champion of making physical activity accessible, and fab to hear and see this in action at their allotment! Always great to see what happens when our members get the support they need, to do what they do best! 🌱

Good luck to all the children and young people across Harrow heading back to school this week! 🎒💙

Whether it’s a very first day in Reception, the move up to Year 7, or simply getting back into the school routine after the summer, we hope everyone has a brilliant start to the new school year.

And a little reminder for parents and carers from Dan: if your child needs support beyond the school day, there’s plenty available locally.

Through our network of 200+ charities and community organisations, you can find activities and programmes for having fun, meeting new people and trying something different, as well as support with mental health, wellbeing and more.

One more opportunity for some family fun next weekend! 🎉

Our friends at Kids Can Achieve (KCA) are holding their 2026 Family Fun Day on Sunday 6 September, with lots planned for children, young people and their families.

There’ll be an animal encounter with Spirit of the Wild, a bouncy castle, party entertainment, sports, arts and crafts, sensory play, games, a BBQ and plenty more.

KCA is a SEND specialist organisation, and the Family Fun Day is open to children and young people aged 0–25 and their families. The day will also help raise funds for KCA’s new soft playroom, helping them create an even better space for the children and young people who attend their programmes.
