2 support worker positions available in Whelley/Aspull supporting a gentleman in his own home in all areas of daily life

driver essential with the use of your own car petrol expenses will be covered by the person supported

full induction training and enhanced DBS will be provided

this is a one to one position on a rolling 2 week rota

week 1

Monday 8.30am till 8pm
Tuesday 8.30am till 6.30pm
Saturday 8am till 4pm

week 2

Wednesday 8.30am till 8pm
Thursday 8.30am till 8pm
Friday 8.30am till 8pm

averages 32 hours per week

in anticipation of potentially growing a team and service we currently already provide we are looking for suitable interested people to join an established team of 3 with the view to growing the team to possibly 8 people

This would be supporting a gentleman in his own home in all areas of his daily life including moving and handling and support with personal care ..

working in a 2 to 1 situation with potentially waking nights available....hours to be discussed further in due course

full training induction and dbs will be provided
both drivers and none drivers will be considered

wishing you all a very merry peaceful Christmas after another tough year I'd just like to thank everyone for their continued support it really is all about the people you meet along the way ❤️ the people we support and the continued support from their families

with a special thanks to Marysia Jill and Anita we are so much more than the "office" a true team spirit that fight for people every day and the rest of the hard work that goes along with it often unseen but very much there

not forgetting our fabulous Locality Officers and Team Leaders and all of our wonderful support team members who bring dedication everyday

and to our Trustees and Management who support me behind the scenes and who I look too and lean on in those times of need

2025 has been another experience laughs and lows but we are still here

so thank you all and Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄

just a quick message to say thank you for everyone's understanding and patience with regards to the current situation

sadly at the min one of the gentleman we support is in hospital (I'm not posting his name for confidentiality reasons)

my time and support has been needed and is still needed with this gentleman his family and his team

in the meantime Marysia Jill and Anita are supporting with communications messages and rearranging any meetings I am currently unable to take

What a good turn out n a great night at our Christmas Party.
Just need to say that in my effort to keep my “ speech” brief, I omitted to thank our DJ Darrell Love, Dawn from Exclusive Event Hire, the bar staff and Hindley Sports and Social Club and our outstanding office Team Jill and Anita.
Also a very big thank you to our Ops Manager Rachael McDonald who is an absolute star making sure not only that everyone’s needs are met but that all involved with Wigan Link are valued.

thanks to hindley "labour" club for the fabulous venue as always and decorated beautifully

for everyone's generous raffle donations

to Dawn from exclusive event hire for the great selfie mirror and Daryl our resident DJ

christmas party tonight it starts at 7.30pm not 7pm please just to allow us time to get set up 🙏🤗

accessible entrance is from the car park side round the back you can't drive to it from the front entrance you need to go all the way round from the back entrance side via a different road if you can manage steps with out any issues you can enter from the front

November sees the introduction of another new service to Wigan Link bringing a team of people over with them as we look forward to new beginnings and meeting new people

it also saw the recruitment of 5 new team members with 2 services now filled

and we continue to battle on as always for people who need help having a voice to be heard that's why we do what we do.... the fight is forever constant for a change in health and social care for the person to be seen before the pound/£ for need to be recognised

as we head into the last week of November with December just around the corner.... we carry on daily doing what we are doing ... always keeping the faith 🙌

as a side note to this any donations for our Christmas party raffle are greatly welcomed as always 🙏
