This week, some of our wonderful WDT, Next Generation, Church and Pantry teams have completed a Level 3 qualification in ‘First aid in the Workplace’, expertly led by Matt from Thrive Together Training.

We’re delighted to share that everyone passed with flying colours! Thank you to all who gave their time to come on this course and make our spaces safer. Thank you also to Matt for such an engaging and informative experience.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to recruit an Executive PA to the Team Rector, in a challenging and varied role. The Team Rector is responsible, together with clergy colleagues, for Church Wigan, a network of 50 Church of England churches and social justice activities serving the people of Wigan, Ashton and surrounding villages. The role also supports Wigan Deanery Trust’s Chair of trustees.

We are looking for an experienced PA to be the primary contact to a wide range of people, manage key relationships, ensure top priorities stay in the foreground and important deadlines and schedules are met. You will need to be highly organised, flexible, used to working on your own initiative, with good IT skills. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential as is the ability to exercise diplomacy and sensitivity.

✨INTRODUCING OUR DEBT SUPPORT TEAM!✨

Now in our third year, the Christians Against Poverty debt centre in Wigan has seen clients being freed from £220,000 debt so far.

We also have an amazing group of volunteers who support Christiane, the Debt Coach, on visits to clients all across Wigan. We are part of the Lifted team and this week we got together for some online training. Very enjoyable and informative!

Wigan Deanery Trust is looking for a proactive person to support out Finance Officer with administrative tasks for Wigan Deanery Trust and Church Wigan. You'll help with the financial processes, including payroll and reporting. You'll work with the existing part-time finance officer and the trustee responsible for finance. We need someone with great attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience of finance and payroll processes is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
