Hello, I am Lorna and I'm very excited to be joining your team to take over the absolute beginner line dance classes at Shrublands Community Centre.
I have been line dancing for over thirty years and have been an instructor for over twenty!
I am looking forward to sharing my love of line dance with as many people as possible in the local area, and hope it will give many people the same pleasure that it has given me over the years.
I currently teach four classes a week, from beginners through to high intermediate/advanced but, although I am from Gorleston and live in Gorleston, my classes are currently all North of the river. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach some people closer to home.
Line Dancing has been with us now for a while and it is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity, along with country music.
I do use country music in my classes but also Latin, pop, Irish and other genres as modern line dancing encompasses all styles of dance.
It is a fun form of exercise that is beneficial for your body, brain and soul.
People enjoy the music and the friendship and learning the routines is a proven way to keep your brain active, helping to protect against conditions like dementia.
I look forward to seeing you at class on Tuesday 16th June at 9:45am.
Lorna
