✨ Weekly round-up at Godalming Youth Service (18th–22nd May) ✨
A week full of creativity, conversation and connection – lots of outdoor games (and chilling!) in the garden, creative experiments and podcasting to meaningful chats about rules at home, friendships and growing up 💛 there were even some free ice lollies!
🎯 What we focused on this week
➡️ Rules at home, changing expectations, and respect
Young people explored how rules evolve as they get older, what feels fair, and how independence and boundaries impact relationships.

Monday Drop-In (29 young people) – Quiz, shadow art & small group chats
Monday Night – Girls Group (8 young people) – Love languages & relationships
Tuesday Drop-In (31 young people) – Pokémon, gaming & group chats
Tuesday Night – Boys Group (15 young people) – Pool, gaming & relationship discussions
Ockford Hub Juniors (3 young people) – Decision-making scenarios & group games
Wednesday School Work (~30–50 contacts with young people) – Sports, circus skills & informal chats
Wednesday Drop-In (26) – Warhammer, riddles & creative crafts
Wednesday Juniors (8–9 per group, two groups) – “Sussed”, emotional wellbeing & confidence activities
Thursday Mobile (approx. 30 engagements, 8 significant engagements + wider visibility) – Community outreach & conversations
Thursday Drop-In (30 young people) – Lego, creative design & group chat
Thursday Night (8 young people) – Chill space, music & wellbeing conversations
Friday Drop-In (28) – Quiz, circus skills & creative games
🌟 Top 3 Things That Made This Week Special
1️⃣ Young People Leading & Teaching Each Other
Young people stepped into leadership roles across sessions – teaching chess, sharing music skills, leading games and supporting peers.
➡️ Building confidence, ownership and peer connection.
2️⃣ Honest Conversations & Emotional Support
Powerful discussions around:
Rules at home & independence
Friendships, relationships & boundaries
Exams, stress and family life
➡️ The centre continues to be a safe, trusted space where young people can open up and be heard.

From experiments and podcasting to sports, Pokémon, crafts and gaming, there was something for everyone.
