Young people have really been feeling the vibe lately 💬 Across our sessions, we heard some amazing feedback this week like:

“This is the best day of the week”
“I enjoy this session so so much”
“Having the youth centre helped me make friends”

From welcoming new faces to seeing quieter young people grow in confidence, the centre continues to be a safe, supportive space where young people can truly be themselves.

🎮 Young person directed Games, creativity & loads of laughs

Loads has been occuring, including: Big group quizzes, Pac-Man challenges & board games like Exploding Kittens 🎲
Creative projects including decoupage, sewing ideas, and shadow art 🎨

🦒 Fun team building this week at the Ockford and Aaron's Hill Community Hub.

We had an absolutely brilliant team-building session on Tuesday. The challenge? Young people needed to work together to build a giant giraffe using nothing but newspapers! 📰✨

It was brilliant seeing the young people huddle up, problem-solve, and engineer a masterpiece. Team-building games like this are so much more than just a laugh—they boost social bonding, teach valuable communication skills, and are just great fun.

One young person even insisted on taking the giraffe home with them (we're unsure of it's final fate! 🦒).

Check out the photos to see our newspaper giraffe take shape! 👇

🚀 What a week and it’s only Wednesday! 🚀

The new term at Godalming Youth Service is off to an absolutely brilliant start! The youth centre has been buzzing with energy, and it’s been amazing to see so many of you dropping in, catching up, and trying out new things.

Here’s a quick look at what’s already making waves this week:

🕹️ Retro Gaming: Our brand-new retro gaming sessions have officially launched! Whether you're a classic arcade master or just discovering the joy of pixelated graphics, it’s safe to say the competition is already fierce.

🎵 The Music Sessions: You guys brought the noise (the good kind!) and the talent. The music room has been packed, and the vibes have been incredible.

🌙 Evening Groups are BACK: Our evening sessions made a triumphant return this week for the new term! A massive shoutout to everyone at Girl's Night—the Pictionary showdown was nothing short of epic (and hilarious). 🎨😂

📸 Bonus Pics!
Since we’re riding such a wave of high energy, we couldn't resist finally sharing these leftover photos from our epic half-term water fight! 💦 Let’s just say things got competitive, nobody stayed dry, and the memories are top-tier.

Drop by tonight or later this week to join the fun—there is plenty more to come this term! 🎒✨

What an incredible half-term at Godalming Youth Service! ☀️🎉

It’s been a packed week, and we’re so proud of everything our young people got involved in.

Across the week, our drop-ins were buzzing with energy, creativity and connection. Whether it was gaming, pool, arts, music, or just having space to chat, we’ve seen amazing engagement — with sessions regularly welcoming 20–30+ young people and creating a real sense of belonging 💬

We also made the most of the good weather with some brilliant outdoor moments — including some fantastic games of rounders and a lovely picnic in the park, which gave everyone a chance to relax, connect and enjoy the sunshine together 🧺⚾
Of course, one of the standout moments had to be the new Granny Pants game… which was EPIC 😂

A huge shout out needs to go to our Mobile Session this week, where around 22 young people came to visit our van, hang out with youth workers for the afternoon and grab a free ice cream 😎🍦

With the heat being such a big factor this week, we made sure to take things safely and sensibly — meaning one thing we couldn’t do was Sumo Wrestling. But honestly… we didn’t miss out, because we had a Gran‑tastic time instead! 👵🎯
Throughout the week, we’ve been really mindful of the hot weather — making sure everyone stayed safe, hydrated, and able to enjoy the sessions comfortably 🌡️💧

From creative activities and challenges, to chilled spaces and high-energy games, this half-term really captured what youth work is all about:

✅ Fun
✅ Friendships
✅ New experiences
✅ A safe space to be yourself

A huge thank you to everyone who came along — you’ve made it such a special week. We can’t wait to see you all again soon!

What a fantastic start to half-term! 🎉

We kicked things off with our brilliant Girls’ Group, who gave curling a go using a curling set. It was definitely something a bit different and outside the norm — but such a fun way to try a new sport! Of course, there was plenty of time for relaxing and chilling too 💬

In the afternoon, things got a little more intense with an EPIC Nerf Gun Battle 🔫☀️

Suns out, guns out! Thanks to a generous donation, a Facebook Marketplace find, and some last-minute eBay bidding, we managed to build up an amazing arsenal — and it meant we could really go all out. It was action-packed and so much fun!

We wrapped up the day with Boys’ Night, which was a brilliant session filled with laughs, great conversations, and (finally!) treating the boys to some well-earned pizza 🍕😄

Finally, having seen our recent request to help us 'get out of a Jam', we received an incredibly generous donation of jams, squash AND ice lollies!

A really positive and memorable day all round — we can’t wait for the rest of the week! Today is another action packed day - we'll share photos tomorrow 😎
