Godalming Band Godalming Band & Youth Band are brass bands playing concerts and teaching young musicians in Surrey

The self-funding organisation is home to two excellent bands - Godalming Band, in existence since 1937, and Godalming Youth Band, which teaches and nurtures the next generation of musicians. Both bands play at a variety of events and concerts throughout the year, and can be booked by contacting the band secretary at [email protected]. New players are encouraged to get in contact or co

me along to a rehearsal where you'll be made welcome. Our Youth Band offers lessons and instruments to budding musicians from around the age of seven, then invites them to join the band to learn and maximise their potential in the group. On Friday 22nd May, we'll be holding a quiz evening to raise money for the bands - so bring your smartest friends and get your thinking caps on for a fabulous cause!

Come along with your own team of up to 8 members or meet new friends by joining a scratch team on the evening. Please let us know if you would like to join a scratch team. You can book tickets and reserve tables at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/godalmingband for £10 per head.

All of the profits go to running our senior and youth bands, so we can bring music to events throughout the year, teach young musicians and keep music alive in Godalming.

Performing on stage at the London & Southern counties regional contest on Sunday 22 March. Promoted to the Third Section this year, we finished 13th out of 17, and the band's hard work resulted in some very encouraging comments from the judges. We're already looking forward to next year's challenge!

It’s that time of year again! We were back to the contest stage this weekend at the Oxfordshire and District Brass Band Association Spring Contest in Witney. We were competing in the 3rd section this year after our promotion at the beginning of the year. A challenge for us and some good feedback on our performance from the adjudicator, Steve Pritchard-Jones, who awarded our principal euphonium, Mike the award of best Euphonium in the section. Congratulations Mike!! - look back on our timeline….you might find a similar picture from this time last year!!
