This is the official page for 1039 (Gillingham) Squadron Air Cadets.

The RAF Air Cadets (RAFAC), better known as the ‘Air Cadets’, is a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 13 and 20 years. RAFAC is sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do. At 1039 (Gillingham) Squadron, we are delighted to be able to offer a wide range of activities for all our cadets, including flying and gliding, adventure training, shooting, sports and music. Our cadets are also able to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and work towards formal qualifications including BTECs.

Many congratulations to CWO Max Powell for receiving OCKW Commendation for Meritorious Service, in recognition of the support he has given at the many cadet events over the many years since joining the RAFAC organisation. 👏

It's always great to welcome a guest to the Squadron, more so when its none-other than Medway's Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Kent, Brigadier Peter Gilbert QVRM TD DL VR.
Having taken time to visit us on National Cadet Week, our Cadets presented him with a number of activities & challenges, including leadership & team building, drum-practice & putting their aviation knowledge into practice on the flight simulator. They also had the chance to chat & get some personal photos, as well as enjoy hearing about his history. A fantastic evening for all involved.
