20th Gillingham Air Scout Group

31/08/2026

Last weekend we went on a joint cub, scout & explorer camp.

Now we know that sounds stressful but with a great team the weekend felt effortless.

If you would like to join us, then please contact us using https://20thgillingham.com/sform-contact_us-interested_in_becoming_a_volunteer_

You don't need to become a section leader, you dont need to attend every week,

Every little helps.

We are delighted to share that, thanks to the support of our amazing sellers, we raised £150 for the 20th Gillingham (Hempstead) Scout Group at the Hempstead Bootfair Safari this weekend.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all 30 sellers who opened their drives, gardens and garages and helped make the event such a success. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you also to everyone who came along to browse, bargain hunt and make purchases throughout the morning. Without our buyers, the event would not have been possible.

The money raised will go directly towards providing fun activities, exciting experiences and new opportunities for the young people in our Scout Group.

Thank you for supporting your local community. We hope you enjoyed the Safari, found a few treasures along the way, and we look forward to seeing you again at future events!

Great to hear that even at 100 years old, Sir David Attenborough still remembers the cub camps he went on.

The Spitfire Cub Pack have hidden 13 easter eggs in South Wood.

Sorry to disapoint but we aren't hidding real chocolate eggs in the woods, instead we hid eggs they drew and coloured in. Each egg has a letter.

Can you find all 13 eggs and work out the hidden phrase.

Answer will be revealed Tuesday.

Good Luck and Godspeed Artemis 2.

Moonbound.

The Artemis II mission lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39B today at 6:35 p.m. EDT (2235 UTC).

Main engine cutoff of the SLS (Space Launch System) core stage is complete, and the core stage has successfully separated from the interim cryogenic propulsion stage and the Orion spacecraft. This marks the end of the first major propulsion phase of the Artemis II mission and the transition to upper‑stage operations.
