An exciting opportunity to see two prizewinning authors at the Merlin Theatre this July. On Friday, 10 July, Andrew Miller will be talking with novelist Emma Craigie about his writing and novel, 'The Land in Winter' - the bookies' favourite to win this year's Booker Prize. Set during the "Big Freeze" of 1962–1963, it was highly praised for its hypnotic, atmospheric prose, masterful tension, and profound psychological depth.
On Saturday, 11 July, Nicholas Shakespeare will be in conversation with writer Kylie Fitzpatrick. Nicholas Shakespeare is one of our most distinguished biographers - a writer of enthralling espionage stories and gripping political thrillers, whose writing has been compared to that of John le Carré and Graham Greene. His latest book, 'Frame 37', which links to the shadowy underworld of US politics is currently collecting rave reviews.
