Please join us in welcoming 2 more guardians to our team.....

❤️ Cara Clark

And

❤️ Kirsty Kay

Our amazing small team of guardians hold an extremely important role in our cause. Completing checks, replacing items etc to ensure the units are always emergency ready.

We wouldn't be able to do this without them.

Thank you 😀

Our defibrillator at JT Byrnes was deployed this morning.

The team hope the casualty gets the treatment needed and it is a positive outcome.

Thoughts are with the individual and their loved ones

Once the defibrillator is back at the cabinet, one of the team will get it back to emergency ready and we will update the circuit so it can be live again.

*pads replaced and back on circuit

Remember Neil, who shared his dad, Jim's, cardiac arrest survival story a week or so ago?

Well.... the BBC got in touch and interviewed Jim on Tuesday this week.

Jim will be on BBC Lancashire radio show at 08:20 tomorrow and BBC North West tomorrow evening. He will also be on the BBC Website from tomorrow.

We wish Jim all the best and a huge thank you for sharing his touching story highlighting the importance of these public access life-saving defibrillators

See below......

A graph of the chance of survival each minute after someone goes into a cardiac arrest.

The statistics are so scary as it doesn't give much time before the chance of survival dramatically drops.

This is why we take our cause so seriously. We would love to have a defibrillator at every corner, however, this is not realistic.

We only depend on our hard fundraising efforts and donations to be able to supply and maintain these life-saving devices.

Each unit costs us initially.... £1255, then there is the maintenance costs of replacement pads, replacement batteries and prep kits.

But, that doesn't stop us. We will continue to fundraise, supply and maintain these essential units.
