🌱 A busy start to the week on the farm! 🌱

We’ve been hard at work in two of our three polytunnels, giving them a good seasonal tidy-up. Jobs included removing the last of the cucumber plants, weeding, broadforking, scuffling and watering, before getting some new crops in the ground. 🪏

🌱 Peas and lettuce were planted and the other beds are prepped and ready for spinach and oak Choi 🥬

Alongside the eagerly awaited delivery of our new cold room, the beginning of the week has seen lots more action on the farm! 🌱

We had a visit from 30 school children on Monday morning, and they all worked incredibly hard. They helped to:

🧅 Plant two beds of onions
🪵 Woodchip a cleared area ready for some new compost bays
🌿 Harvest sage and rosemary
🌱 Plant some peas to take home
🫘 Harvest and pod Borlotti beans
🧄 Begin separating garlic cloves

Meanwhile, our other volunteers have been busy too!
They’ve tidied up both the chard and brassicas, painted the shed, broadforked and prepped beds, separated garlic bulbs (some with a little help from M 🐈‍⬛) and helped harvest tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and peppers. 🍅🥒 🫑

🌟 It’s in – our new cold room has arrived! 🌟

After many months of planning and preparation, our new cold room is finally in place and up and running! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making it happen, including those working behind the scenes with the organising, those on ground clearance, paving slab laying, channel digging, electrical cable laying and, of course, the delivery itself!

It’s been a real team effort, and we’re so excited to have this fantastic new addition to the farm. 🥦🥕🌱
