We finished last week with another busy social Saturday! It was a joint celebration of Teti’s birthdays and a thank you to 2 board members who have stepped down.
Among all the celebrations was lots of planting - peppers, leeks, pumpkins, sweetcorn, beans, and three types of squash were all planted!
The planted couldn’t have been achieved without all the hard work put in during the week getting the beds ready, as-well as tending to the rest of the farm.

Finishing off the aubergine beds today… hoed the weeds, covered the base of the plants with sheep’s wool (donated to us by members & volunteers,) this acts as a natural mulch, then we put in the poles and hoops so we could cover them… all under the watchful eye of Madeline 🐈‍⬛

☀️ Despite the relentless heat this week, it didn’t put our volunteers off! We found as many ‘cooler’ jobs under the shade as we could, even packing this week’s share outside.
🌱 We rounded the week off with a planting party on Saturday, where leeks and courgettes were planted and those shade seekers sowed beans, kale and lettuce undercover.
🥳 We surprised our resident birthday celebrator with a celebration of her own - much to her embarrassment!
