We Need Your Help!
First Focus, for the past 24 years, have provided free services, support and activities to our local community. Now we urgently need your help to continue this vital work. At a time when our services are needed more than ever, we are facing the risk of closure.
We urgently need financial support to keep our service running. We do not receive any government funding, which means every pound we rely on must be applied for or donated. Right now, we are facing a critical shortfall. If you can help us with funding, collections, and sponsorships, it will help us cover our core costs, rent, utility bills, training, salaries for 2 members of staff and activities.
First Focus provides vital support, including help with completing forms such as Blue Badges etc, wellbeing chats and counselling, assistance with accessing online services, and crisis food parcels etc. We aim to support everyone who comes through our doors when we are able. We provide direct help, but if we can't, we will connect people to the right services or organisations that can. We also offer a safe, welcoming space for people to socialise, reducing isolation, alongside an affordable-priced café, activities (free seated yoga, lunch club) and much more.
Fakenham has already suffered the loss of key support services this year, including the closure of the Citizens Advice Bureau and Fakenham Connect. These closures have left a significant gap in support available to local people. Many people will now be forced to travel further to access the help they rely on, placing additional strain on those already facing financial hardship, the homeless, or those with limited mobility.
We link in with other agencies such as the Job Centre, Homeless Assistance, Social Prescribers and many others. This link would then disappear, so where would people needing help go?
First Focus supports nearly 3,000 people each year who come through our doors for specific help and support. This includes accessing essential services, receiving food support, a way of staying warm during the winter months, and taking part in activities.
