Thursday 19th March - This week, our last for the season, we will begin by holding our AGM, which will then be closely followed by: "Who Do You Think You Are?" hosted by our chairman Neville Lunness-Barnes. Neville will entertain us with stories from his life and career in an almost interactive talk.
We still have vacancies on the Committee as advertised previously, so if you feel you can become one of our very friendly Committee members, please advise us as soon as possible. Of course nominations can be made on the evening too, but we want to help save the future of the society.
Although we start with our AGM, any new members or guests are welcome to come along and join our existing members to hear the talk.

Thursday 5th March - Come and hear Mark Glaister telling us all about "The Life & Times of Langham Dome". Mark, one of Langham Dome Museum's Archivists, will help to unveil the hidden past of one of our famous local attractions.

This Thursday, 19th February, we have our very own committee member, Sue Parry, with "The Druce Portland Affair". Over 30 years after the funeral of T C Druce, his daughter-in-law claimed his death in 1864 had been faked. Sue tells us about this extraordinary story that filled newspapers for 9 years.

Jim will tell us about the music, lives and stories of the American songwriters largely responsible for the "American Songbook", including Irving Berlin, Cole Porter & Richard Rodgers, illustrated with musical extracts.

Well, what a great time we all had at our "Death in Disguise" murder mystery evening, held on Thursday 11th December. Gary Powell, the former London detective and history buff, had us all thinking!!! We've included some photos to highlight the fun.

This week, Thursday 11th December, you are welcome to join us for our Christmas meeting. Gary Powell will present "Death In Disguise". A former London detective and history buff, Gary invites us to be the jury at a true Victorian murder trial. So, Guilty? or Not Guilty? …..YOU decide! Bring your neighbours and friends to help to join in the fun. Will you agree with the others on the jury? As it's Christmas, we will be seated around tables for the evening with festive refreshments available, and there will also be a prize for the “Best Christmas Jumper”.
