We may only be a small team of four but it takes a whole community to organise and run our annual Christmas craft fayre and lights switch on event. We’d like to take this opportunity to say some thank yous.
Firstly, our exceptionally generous family and friends, who do everything they can to support us, both in the run up to the event and on the day. We are truly grateful for you.
Thank you to Janet and her team at Fakenham area partnership, who for years have organised the lights being put up.
We couldn’t put on the show we do without Peter Hamilton of PJH Sound Systems, who gives us his time and services completely voluntarily every year. To Richard Tree, who compères the event for us voluntarily. To Thurlow Nunn Standen, who loan us the TNS trailer and to their amazing staff, who arrive early to set up to ensure we have a stage in place before anything else. To Jamie Francis, who gives his time voluntarily to support us and Fakenham Town Council for the storage of some of the larger items we need.
To all the performers who turned out in the rain to put on a show for you all. We try to showcase local talent every year and give them a platform. Fakenham has some amazing talent!
To Laura and Steph, who supported us with the children’s craft area and selfie sleigh, and our little elves, Karen, Tanya and Poppy. You are all legends!
To our wonderful raffle and tombola team, who are incredible! They brighten our day for sure!
To Alie and Theresa at The CROWN Fakenham, who set up Santa’s Grotto for us. To Santa himself, who takes a break from his busy schedule to visit us every year and to Kinnerton Confectionery for the children’s presents they provide us completely free of charge.
To the Grinch, who visited us again this year, with his usual antics!
To Miniature Donkeys for Therapy and Fun, who turned out in the rain when they really would have rather been tucked up in their stables!
To James Beck Auction, for the loan of his parking meadow for the day.
To the Fakenham fire crews, who always support us at every event to put on.
To Fakenham Garden Centre Ltd for the loan of reindeer to pull our selfie sleigh and to Aldiss Fakenham for the carpet for it to sit on. And of course the wonderful Gary Besant (aka Grandad Fix It) for his incredible skills in making our sleigh and delivering it to us every year.
To all the local shops and businesses who support us with raffle prizes, advertising and our naughty elf trail. What a great community you all are. Shop Fakenham
To all the food vendors and craft stalls who braved the weather to ensure our event was a success. We are very grateful!
To all the children who took part in our naughty elf trail and congratulations to Barney, our winner this year. Barney had a great time switching on the lights. Thanks to Morrisons who kindly donated a lovely hamper for Barney.
We couldn’t do it without you all and we are immensely grateful and proud of the wonderful community spirit you all share.
Thank you for coming to support us.
Here’s to next year! 🎉
