A big well done to our year 5 cricketers who participated in 6’s tournament on Friday. Every bit in the team displayed excellent skills and sportsmanship.

ECS came joint second place after facing some difficult opposition and losing a game only by one run!

We are very proud of you guys, great work!

A big thank you to the team manager, Brendan Johns

What a wonderful week Year 6 have had, despite the sunshine and showers!

The children were absolutely fantastic and showed great courage and determination throughout the many activities at Portland. They embraced personal challenges, stepped outside their comfort zones, and worked brilliantly as a team.

Activities included giant stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, coasteering, rock climbing, and abseiling. Throughout the week, the children demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a willingness to push themselves to achieve their goals.

Another ECS sporting success!

Our Year 5 cricket team represented ECS at Dynamos cricket tournament last term.

The boys all showed incredible team work, determination and resilience and beat Chandlers Field, St Paul’s and Royal Kent.

They topped the group and will now move on to the Elmbridge final.

Well done boys - a great result!

We can’t wait to see what you can do in the final.

Huge congratulations to our boys football team today, who won their play-off final against Cranmere Primary School today.
It was a nail-bitter towards the end, with ECS winning the game 5 - 4 !

Well done to the boys who showed strong team work, determination and resilience. The ECS community is amazingly proud of you all!

Thank you to our superstar football managers for the day too! Your support and footballing wisdom made all the difference!

Thank you to all the parents and carers via the support of the ECSA, in finding the new stage to our school.

This fantastic addition will make a huge difference to school life, enhancing collective worship, class assemblies, performances, and special events for both our pupils and the wider community.

The new staging provides a safer, more professional, and flexible performance space, allowing our children to showcase their talents with confidence and pride. It is a wonderful investment that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

We are incredibly grateful to the ECSA for their continued commitment to enriching the experiences of all our children. Support like this truly makes a difference, and we greatly appreciate the time, effort, and fundraising that made it possible.

Thank you once again!

Year 6 enjoyed the final session of their computing unit this week, where they designed their own homes using the skills they have developed over the past few weeks.

We think we may have some budding architects of the future in our midst!

Year 5 have had an excellent time at Marchants Hill this week. The children have really challenged themselves, built their resilience, and worked brilliantly as a team while taking part in activities such as Jacob’s Ladder, buggy building, and the Giant Swing.

We have also enjoyed lots of fun together during the campfire evening and Cluedo activities. The children (and adults!) certainly deserve a well-earned weekend to rest after three very busy and action-packed days

This week, our Eco Team have been busy helping to look after our school by carrying out some litter picking around the grounds. We were quite surprised (and a little shocked!) to find much more litter than we expected.

Most of the rubbish we found was plastic, especially food wrappers such as crisp packets. We also found other bits of plastic, some fruit waste, and paper.

We were particularly surprised by the number of food wrappers. This made us reflect on our snack choices, as we have noticed that some children are bringing packaged snacks instead of fruit for morning fruit break. Not only can this create more litter, but these snacks are not always the healthiest choice either.

We began discussing ways we can support our community in reducing litter, while also thinking carefully about how we dispose of waste sustainably and responsibly.

Let’s all work together to keep our school clean, protect our environment, and make healthy choices wherever we can! And don’t forget — our Roly Pig is out there and hungry for your food waste! 🌍🍎
