This page is not affiliated to the Yorkshire Air Museum account and is run by volunteers. Volunteer aviation fire service based at Elvington airfield now the home of the award winning Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Airforces Memorial. The service operates to CAA CAT 2 and H1 catogeries of fire cover, the service also provides first aid cover at the museum.

YAM FIRE HISTORY !!

Eleven years ago Allisdair Couper of TERBERG DTS kindly transported this truck to & from YAM to provide a monitor for the Rolling Thunder Event on the airfield as the Pathfinder monitor was at TERBERG getting repaired & all of this at zero cost to the museum !!
Guys like this are few & far between, kindness beyond belief !!!!

Stand down lads, its bait time !
The guy on the far left is Mark Gambles the then ADO from RAF Linton. He got a lot of stick from our guys as you can imagine holding that rank, the day started when we presented him with a cork helmet with an "L" Plate on it.....lol, & after that they were at him all day but he took it all in good faith ! Brilliant day had by all.
