Great to welcome our local MP Ian Murray and MSP Daniel Johnson to Goodtrees today.

Our Junior Youth Workers had the opportunity to share the work they do within the community, discuss the issues affecting local children and young people, and highlight the impact of our holiday programmes youth work, intergenerational work and initiatives such as Operation Christmas.

It was fantastic to see our young people speaking confidently about the difference youth work makes, showcasing the leadership, commitment and community spirit they bring to Goodtrees every week. We are incredibly proud of the positive contribution they make to our community.

Yesterday we caught up with some of the young people taking on Ben Lomond to hear why they’re stepping up to the challenge.

They’re climbing to raise money for Cash for Kids Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife & Falkirk a charity that has supported Goodtrees and our community for the past 9 years.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help support children and young people facing poverty, illness, neglect and additional needs across our communities.

We’re excited to be welcoming the Link Academy Pause, Think, Grow programme to Goodtrees.

They are currently recruiting volunteer peer mentors aged 16–24 who feel ready to support younger people, develop new skills and be part of a supportive team.

A strong opportunity for young people looking to gain experience while helping others navigate challenges and build confidence for the future.
