The legacy she has left is a first-hand social history through her distinctive lens, including over 3000 images of Wester Hailes and South West Edinburgh.

See her astonishing original photos, contribute to the archive record with your information on the who, what, where, and why of them, and explore community stories, reminiscences, and visions.

In light of the growing climate of racism, far-right hostility, and Islamophobic attacks, we stand in complete solidarity with our Muslim neighbours and diverse communities.

We oppose all forms of discrimination, hate speech, and violence. We hear the fear and exhaustion around us. We might not have many answers, but we resist division with open hearts, continuous learning, and caring for one another.

As an intergenerational and multicultural collective in Wester Hailes, our strength is our diversity. Within our different backgrounds, beliefs and life paths, we find the power to dream of and take action for a better world.
We want this spirit of solidarity to ripple in our community and beyond. Our space is your space. A sanctuary and a respite from the pressures of systemic oppression. Whether you need a place to rest, connect, or simply breathe, you’re welcome here.

With warmth and solidarity,
The Community Wellbeing Collective

This Saturday we’re throwing open the doors for a day of live music, workshops, food and good vibes - and you’re all invited. 🎉
Join us for We’re Still Here, a community celebration with a Djembe drumming workshop, DJ and production sessions, creative activities, and live beats from PRZDNT to close the day out.
Free to attend - but we’re still raising funds to keep doing what we do, so any donation on the day goes a long way. Every bit helps.

Over the past few weeks we have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of this community.

We are reopening our doors this Saturday 25th July with a full day of celebration. From 12pm we have creative activities, a djembe drumming workshop, a DJ and production workshop, food and drinks, and live band PRZDNT from 4pm. Come down, bring folk, and help us mark this moment together.

To everyone who donated to our crowdfunder, whether that was £1 or £500, thank you. Every single entry mattered. We are especially grateful to the individuals who gave anonymously, including two supporters who donated £500 and £250. You know who you are.

To everyone who ran their own fundraiser to contribute to the campaign, thank you for giving your time and energy to keep this space alive. To the people who baked for our summer fest stall, to the volunteer who raffled off a handmade blanket, to everyone who bought a t-shirt, thank you. Every single one of those gestures added up.

To all the artists who donated work to our art auction, to the Edinburgh Art Festival, and to the Robertson Trust for tripling donations, your support helped us raise over £7,100. That is extraordinary.

To the 99 of you who entered the Sandra George prize draw, you raised £905 in support of this space and the legacy of an incredible woman. Thank you to Craigmillar Now, the City Art Centre, and Tyler George Hewitt for making it possible.

We still need your help. Our July target is open until the 30th. If you have not donated yet, the link is in our bio. If you have, please share it. Every share counts as much as every pound.
