St Francis Animal Welfare is a registered charity (1166590) which was first established in 1953 and is now based at Sunnyside Cottage, Mortimer's Lane in Fair Oak, near Southampton. We provide shelter and care for many animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and many other small mammals. We aim to rehabilitate and rehome as many animals as we can but have many long term residents including several cats, two pigs, two ponies and many chickens. If you are interested in adopting a rescue animal please pop into the shelter and fill out a registration form during our opening hours. We always need hardworking volunteers to help with the animals and to help fundraise. If this is something you may be interested in please do contact us.

💕 Forever Home Friday 💕

“Bondi and Rosita have really completed our family. Bondi is our morning alarm clock ensuring we are up to feed him and his sister breakfast, empty litter trays and let them out. Rosita remains timid but loves to have cuddles in the evening and insists on a blanket for this!

My son was a little nervous of animals but has really bonded with them both especially given how gentle they are. He often reads them bedtime stories and if one is on his bed at bedtime he will move to ensure he can stroke them and falls to sleep doing this 😍. My daughter will collect a cat at bedtime whom will have lots of fuss made of them.

We would be lost without them now and hope they love living with us as much as we do. Strangely they love their cat carrier and sleep there lots and even like the vets currently! They certainly love going out hunting. Thank you SFAW for letting us adopt them.”

🦜 Rascal 🦜

DOB: April 2023

About Me: Rascal is a cheeky, playful and clever little bird with a wonderfully amusing personality. He's always keen to get involved in whatever is going on and loves being part of the action!

Ideal Home: Rascal is looking for a home with one or more green-cheeked conures so he can enjoy the companionship of his own kind. He will need plenty of enrichment, stimulation, and daily interaction. If kept as an indoor bird, he will require generous free-roam time outside of his cage.

🐈 Moggie Monday 🐈

Mum, kitten and orphan season is still in full swing 🐱

Every little life that comes through our doors has a story to tell. From young mums found straying with their kittens in tow, to tiny babies born into rescue 🥺

Some are confident little characters, full of mischief and ready to play. Others are frightened, fragile souls who need a little extra reassurance to learn they're finally safe ❤️

One thing they all have in common? They’re the lucky ones 🍀

Sadly, we know that not every stray mum or kitten gets the chance of a safe haven and a brighter future 💔

Please help by having your cats neutered. It can make all the difference 🙏

If you are interested in adopting a kitten from us, you can read about them here www.stfrancisanimalwelfare.co.uk/cats and send us application form found at the bottom of the webpage 🐾

🐱 Caturday 🐱

Cutie pie Eric is looking for his forever home 🤗

This beautiful youngster hasn’t yet had the chance to truly be a kitten. He can be timid at first, but once he knows he’s safe, he’s just utterly loving. He’s so desperate to be cherished and adored 🥰

We think he’d benefit from living with a confident cat to help him blossom even more 🌼

💕 Forever Home Friday 💕

“We have now had Kanga for 2 months and in that time, he has become a big part of the family and is a real source of entertainment, especially when he has the ‘zoomies’!

He is playful, inquisitive, and has really come out of his shell and seems very happy. He’s a real character & we all love him - he’s just brill!!”
