St Francis Animal Welfare is a registered charity (1166590) which was first established in 1953 and is now based at Sunnyside Cottage, Mortimer's Lane in Fair Oak, near Southampton. We provide shelter and care for many animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and many other small mammals. We aim to rehabilitate and rehome as many animals as we can but have many long term resident

s including several cats, two pigs, two ponies and many chickens. If you are interested in adopting a rescue animal please pop into the shelter and fill out a registration form during our opening hours. We always need hardworking volunteers to help with the animals and to help fundraise. If this is something you may be interested in please do contact us.

We’ll be there throughout the day with our St Francis Animal Welfare stall, where you can chat to the team, learn more about the animals currently looking for their forever homes, and find out about the work we do and the many ways you can support the shelter 🐾

We’ll also be running our Pet Tombola, with lots of fantastic prizes to be won, as well as selling our very popular Mystery Bags! 🎁🐶🐱

About me: Delta is a handsome hound who may be shy at first, but he soon becomes inquisitive and friendly with everyone he meets. 

Cats: No.

Dogs: Delta currently finds interactions with other dogs overwhelming so will need to be the only dog in the home. He would benefit from socialisation with other dogs outside the home. 

Children: 12 years and over.

Ideal home: Delta will need owners experienced with sighthounds or other high-prey-drive breeds. He would love a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy life away from the track. He will need engaging but easy-to-manage walks, along with plenty of comfort and companionship.
