📣Announcing the final talk in our 2026 Midweek Musings series!

Join the former Mayor of Wi******er, Russell Gordon-Smith, for a captivating exploration of Alresford’s surprising role in the history of French prisoners of war during the early 19th century.

This fascinating talk will explore the stories of French officers buried in St John's churchyard, and how these tombs led to a wider investigation into the parole system, allowing captured officers to live in designated towns across Britain.

Russell is a local historian and retired landscape architect who served as Mayor of Wi******er from 2024 - 2025.

📣Meet the speaker!

🎊Our speaker for the fifth Midweek Musings of the year is the incredible Dr Gabriella Day! 🙌

👩‍⚕️Dr Gabriella Day is a GP and homeopath who bridges the worlds of conventional and complementary medicine. Through homeopathic practice, Gabriella goes beyond labels to explore how each patient uniquely experiences their illness.

In her own words:👇
"As I have progressed through my career, I have found an increasing desire to unite various philosophies. Where there are truths, they must fit together and not conflict. Spirituality is inherent in man. Man is subject to disease. Medicine that seeks to address the disease of the spiritual man, ought not to conflict with that spirituality."

Tickets for her upcoming talk: 'Church, Medicine, the Heretic and the Witch' are still on sale. Follow the link below to grab yours today! 👇
