The evening was packed with adventure as Beavers went minibeast hunting, discovering all sorts of fascinating creatures hidden in the undergrowth. They also learned how to identify different trees and got creative making beautiful tree rubbings. 🌳🐞

Meanwhile, our Scouts enjoyed an exciting evening on the water at Woodmill Outdoor Centre, developing their canoeing skills 🚣‍♂️🌊

🦫✨ Our Beavers had a wonderful time enjoying a very special District Beaver Scout sleepover at Wi******er Science Centre and Planetarium! 🌌🚀

🧪🧲 They spent the evening exploring the interactive exhibits around the Science Centre, and settling down to enjoy films in the Planetarium. After a night full of curiosity and adventure, they were ready for a well-earned rest. 🌍💫

What an amazing day our Beavers and Cubs had exploring Marwell Zoo!

We spent the day discovering incredible animals from around the world—spotting giraffes stretching high above the trees, watching playful primates swing about, and spotting reptiles in camouflage 🐊🐒

What a fantastic time our Cubs had at County Cub Camp Ham Jam! 🏕️

The camp was so packed with activities, adventures and fun that we hardly had time to stop and take photos 📸 — which is always a sign of a great camp! From games and exploring to campfire moments 🔥 and plenty of laughter 😄, the Cubs made the most of every minute.

A huge well done to all the Cubs for their enthusiasm, teamwork and energy 💪🌟 and a big thank you to the leaders and organisers who made it all possible 🙌

We may not have many photos, but we definitely have lots of amazing memories! 🧡🏕️

Join Itchen District Scouts Canoe Club every Saturday (March–December) at Lakeside, Eastleigh!
💷 £8 per 2-hour session (pay as you go – no commitment)

Open to all members of Scouting and Guiding from Cubs and Brownies upwards.
Try kayaking and canoeing – plus river trips throughout the year!

Cubs enjoyed a brilliant visit to the Eastleigh Fire Station where the firefighters gave us a fantastic tour of the station. The Cubs got to see the fire engines up close, learn about the equipment firefighters use, and hear about the important work they do to keep our community safe.

The highlight of the visit? Getting hands-on with the fire hoses! The Cubs had a brilliant time spraying water and learning how firefighters control the hoses during emergencies. 💦

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Eastleigh Fire Station for taking the time to show us around! 👨‍🚒🚒

Step back in time and experience the history of Scouting at the Hampshire Scout Heritage Fest on Saturday 11th April (10am–5pm) at 1st Chandlers Ford Scout Hut for a fantastic day of hands-on activities, living history, and traditional Scout skills.

Try blacksmithing, learn new knots, explore incredible Scouting exhibits, discover stories of Rover Scouts in WWII POW camps, and even make your own Scout badge or rope. There will also be bushcraft demonstrations, badge collections spanning decades, leather branding, and much more.

📍 Brickfield Lane, Chandlers Ford (just 2 minutes from M3 Junction 13)

This **FREE event** is open to Scouts and non-Scouts of all ages — adults and children welcome!

🐿️🦫⚜️ Easter Adventure at Ferny Crofts! ⚜️🦫🐿️

What an amazing Easter group anniversary camp at Ferny Crofts! Our Squirrels, Beaver Cubs and Scouts had a fantastic time celebrating together with a full weekend of adventure, teamwork and plenty of smiles.

From taking aim in archery and learning outdoor skills in bushcraft, to tackling the adventure course, trying out bouldering, and even taking to the water with rafting, there was something exciting for everyone.

Scouts cooked up a delicious meal on campfire, Beavers and Beavers/Cubs bounced into action on aeroball, Scouts performed circus skills and explored the site through frisbee golf and orienteering. The weekend wouldn’t have been complete without a brilliant Easter egg hunt to finish the celebrations!

A huge well done to all our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for their enthusiasm and teamwork, and thank you to the leaders and volunteers who made this memorable anniversary camp possible.

Here’s to many more adventures together! 🌟🏕️

🔬🦫 Beavers Take on Their Experiments Badge! 🦫🔬

This week our Beavers celebrated British Science Week by working towards their Experiments Badge — and what a fantastic evening of discovery it was!

The Beavers became mini scientists and explored some exciting experiments:

🌋 Volcano eruptions – watching the bubbly “lava” explode from volcanoes!
🥤 Dancing raisins – discovering how raisins bob up and down in sparkling water.
💡 Lava lamps – creating colourful bubbling reactions and learning about liquids that don’t mix.

The Beavers did a brilliant job observing what happened and thinking about the science behind it all. 🧪🧑‍🔬

🔬⚡ British Science Week Part One ⚡🔬

Our Scouts had an electrifying evening earning their Scientist Activity Badge as part of British Science Week! 🍎🍋

They put fruit to the test by investigating its electrical charge and used special cardboard engineering tools, the Scouts designed and built their own structures, putting their problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test. 🛠️📦

Whilst two Scouts were selected to earn their Electronics badge by soldering FM radios. This was part of a scheme run by the Radio Society of Great Britain as part of British Science Week which were selected to take part in. We do have more kits which more Scouts will complete next week.
