🚨 Deadline: πŸ“† 7th September 2026 Launched in 2014, the Better Community Business Network (BCBN) Grant Initiative aims to provide small third-sector grant awards to empower charities and local community projects in the UK.

Funding is intended to improve the quality of life and expectations of people and their communities, especially those who come from disadvantaged or socially deprived backgrounds.

The following types of organisation may apply: Community, self-help or voluntary groups, Charities, including local branches of national charities, Organisations with charitable aims - Maximum Grant: Β£3,000

The Social Investment Gateway Programme provides 12 months of free support for not-for-profit organisations considering social investment within the next three years.

The programme helps organisations strengthen their trading income, business model, finances, systems and leadership.

It includes tailored learning, diagnostic support, peer coaching, investment surgeries and opportunities to meet social investors.

Alongside the learning and support, the programme offers two types of grants:
🌟 Match Trading Grant of up to Β£18,000 – paid over 12 months in five instalments as the organisation’s trading income increases.

🌟 Repayable grant of up to Β£24,000 – the School for Social Entrepreneurs is piloting 10 of these grants across the programme’s two rounds. The average award is around Β£22,000.


The next programme runs from πŸ“† 1st March 2027 to 1st February 2028, with face-to-face sessions offered in London and Manchester at the start, middle and end of the programme.

The programme is open to England-based charities, social enterprises and community organisations with an active trading model and plans to grow. Applicants should usually have an annual income above Β£100,000, although organisations below this level can contact the School for Social Entrepreneurs if they have a strong trading model.

Energy Resilience Fund – Deadline: Ongoing πŸ‘€

The Energy Resilience Fund provides eligible charities and social enterprises in England with a blended funding package of loan (60%) and grant (40%) to improve their energy resilience.

They may need this support for many different reasons, for example reduced carbon emissions, energy cost savings, upgrading energy efficiency ratings to meet future regulations, increased use or comfort of buildings, replacing older vehicles and equipment with modern energy efficient versions.

Grant Amount: Funding of Β£25,000 to Β£250,000 is available via a blend of grants (40%) and loans (60%)

🌟 FREE workshops for people in the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector in East Sussex - The University of Brighton and East Sussex County Council are working together to support local voluntary and community organisations to do their own research. 🌟

They are delivering ten online and in-person workshops on topics including: designing research, collecting data, analysing it, and presenting findings. ☺️

You can take part whether you are new to doing research, or have some experience already. You can attend all the workshops or just some of them.
