Community Wise

Community Wise Community Wise, a thriving community centre, run for the benefit of all our local community The Church is a separate charitable trust with very similar aims.

The aims of Community Wise are to:

Serve the community, especially women and young people;
Encourage the family;
Value individuals, identifying and responding to their needs; and
Promote community spirit

It does this by:

Providing community facilities at low cost
actively encouraging the development of community groups
enabling the formation of new groups as and when needs have been identified

and opportunities arise
envisioning and supporting staff and volunteers
working in partnership with other agencies

A growing partnership with Living Stones Community Church has developed. The Church uses the building for its Sunday morning meeting and for other meetings and events from time to time. The Church takes responsibility for a ten week 'Alpha Course' which takes participants through the basic elements of the Christian faith and gives opportunity for thought and discussion. Sunday morning meetings are held at 10.30 am and visitors, including children and young people of all ages, are very welcome. The Trustees of Community Wise are appointed by Living Stones Church and many volunteers contribute to the management, maintenance and programmes of the Centre.

We are very short of jewellery at Community Wise Charity Shop, Ocklynge Road, Motcombe, Eastbourne BN21 1PY. Anything at all will be gratefully received - broken costume jewellery is perfect and will be sorted, by our lovely volunteer Kathy, into job lots for people to recreate items or use in crafts. On August 8th 2026, the Kids Stuff Toys Eastbourne Pokémon League will be running Pokémon TCG, VG and GO Pitch Black Mid-Year Celebration Events, where the winner of each age division will take home an exclusive playmat or notebook. If there are 9 or more players in an age division, the winner will also receive a Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box!
The events will begin at the following times:
1.00PM - TCG
1.30PM - VG
2.00PM - GO
Each event will cost £8.00 and is limited to 16 spaces total for each age division. Players are required to bring their own Standard-legal decks for TCG, and their own devices for VG and GO, with a team for the current Play! Tournament format as of 8/8/2026.
The format of the event will be best-of-3 games, with Swiss rounds and no top cut for TCG, in a League Challenge style. VG and GO players will have a top cut (if enough players in their age division)
Deck/team lists are required. You can either fill one in on-site or create it digitally using mylimitlesstcg.com or rk9labs.com and send it to us before the event starts.
Each player will receive a participation Pitch Black booster pack and a Play! Prize Pack booster pack, with an additional Pitch Black booster pack added to the prize pool for each player in that age division.
Friends, spectators and casual players are welcome!
There will be a selection of sleeves, sealed booster packs and single cards available to purchase during the event. Cash, PayPal and card payments are all accepted.
Outside food and drinks are welcome, with the only exception being hot food.
Nearby free street parking is available, and the venue is a 10-minute walk from Eastbourne rail station.
