Thank you for the mention Project Ripple Effect 🌳💦

Ancient + Brave, a Lewes-based company working in nutrition and wellbeing, joined us in May for a volunteer day on the Upper River Medway.

Alongside its core work, the company has made commitments to environmental and social initiatives, including support for conservation and community-based projects. Their time with us reflects their interest in engaging directly with environmental challenges and contributing to practical, place-based work on river health.

We were delighted to host the team at William Robinson Gravetye, where we shared the story of the project so far before heading out to the river itself. Armed with nets and trays, the group got their first look at the invertebrate communities that underpin freshwater ecosystems and what they can tell us about water quality.

Many thanks to William Robinson Gravetye for generously hosting us again in such a beautiful setting, and to the Ancient + Brave team for bringing such enthusiasm (and resilience!) on a rainy day.

DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEADS NEAR WATER. Little Grebes (AKA dabchicks) are building a nest by Lower Lake.
Footfall along Lower Lake is busy at this time of year with dog walkers and Duke of Edinburgh hikers so we hope they will cope and brood successfully.

We are resurfacing 500 metres of permissive bridleway - The Yellow Brick Road - this week. We aim to help people enjoy the forest track all year round by making it drier and smoother. Www.william-Robinson.org.uk/visit-us/

A huge shout out to students from Oriel High School for all their help this morning. It was great to see enthusiastic young people connecting with nature and discovering mice, newts, tadpoles and froglets 🐁🐸🌳
