A bit of background on the tour...

When I originally planned to cycle the length of the UK, I had a bike and a dream, then that bike was stolen. Because of this, I couldn't train, and I didn't make the initial window I had planned.

When I then decided I was going to do this *slightly* ambitious route to support Blood Cancer charities, I made sure I was prepared. I spent weeks planning the tour, making lists of what equiptment I would need, made diet plans to hit my ideal weight target (75kg), and built an entire training and workout schedule. I was ready, in my head I had figured out everything I could think of, I made the fundraising pages, reached out to the charities, posted it online and went live with my plan!

Then I realised, I still didn't have a bike....

That day I found one nearby and picked it up, you can see from the pictures it was a bit of a be**er! I cleaned it up and got it road worthy, it would get me around for now while I work towards a better one. The next day, I took it out for 35 miles to really break it in and kick of the training, this was also the first time I had ridden a bike in around 6 months. Unfortunately I hit a snag the next day when the front fork bearings exploded and detached the frame, but it hasn't stopped me!

My mum (in her infinite wisdom) told me, if this is what I've got I may as well make the best of it, so last night I spent some time making the ol' girl a bit prettier. I've never painted a bike before, but I am happy with how it looks, and I'm sure I'll keep adding to it!

Right now I have is a bike, a goal, and a cycling jersey, everything else I need I will be getting over the coming months, and the training will become easier.

Until then, I am going to keep making the best of it, keep putting the miles in, and keep working towards my goals!

Glad I can still catch the sun, not long until winter closes in and these early morning rides will be a lot darker!

A massive thank you to Anthony Nolan for sending me this cycling jersey!

It will see plenty of blood, sweat, and tears over the next year as I take on 2,500 miles completely solo across the UK to support Anthony Nolan and all the fantastic organisations that work to make life with blood cancer easier, and eventually, a thing of the past.

The support and advice I have had already has been incredible, and I can now officially tick something off my list of equipment needed for the tour!

You can visit the links in my bio for more information on registering as a donor, it's fast, free and easy, so why not become a potential lifesaver today? Like, share, or comment, and spread awareness for the amazing organisations I will be supporting!

My new normal.

First week of the new training schedule and things are going well, keeping consistent will be the only way I make it through the full tour in June!

World Cancer Research Day!

Today is World Cancer Research Day, and as I continue preparing for my charity bike tour across the UK, I can’t help but be reminded of how crucial research is in the fight against cancer. This day reminds us of the life-changing breakthroughs that come from dedicated research—breakthroughs that have saved lives, extended hope, and improved outcomes for millions worldwide.

I’m cycling to raise awareness and funds for multiple organisations that work on this research, but their work, like that of all cancer research efforts, relies on public support.

Every clinical trial, every new treatment, every success story starts with the passion and hard work of researchers. The people that make this work happen continue to amaze their peers and the world.

So, as I take on this journey, I'm riding for every patient, every family member, and every researcher who is tirelessly fighting to improve cancer care. Your support can truly make a difference. Let’s keep pushing forward for the breakthroughs that will one day make cancer history!

Join me in raising awareness, supporting research, and making a change. If you can, please donate, share, or just spread the word. Every bit helps. 💙🚴‍♂️

Today is World Bone Marrow Donor day!

And I would like to take a moment to appreciate everyone that has taken the steps to save lives, either by being a life saver in waiting or by donating and all of the exceptional teams that work to make this happen.

The gift you give is immeasurable, and you are all hero's. I have yet to be called for my donation, but just by being on the register you can help the fight against blood cancer.

Today also marks the first day/ride of my 10 months training ahead of my solo 2,500 mile tour of England, in support of the amazing organisations like DKMS UK & Anthony Nolan working to save millions of lives.
