I know it’s been quiet recently, but a lot has been happening behind the scenes. Setting up the correct charity structure and putting together a proper preservation plan takes time, and I want to make sure everything is done carefully and respectfully.

There has been contact with the relevant parties so that a realistic proposal can be put forward.

The aim remains the same — to see Norris Castle protected and given a sustainable future for the Island and its history.

🌿 Help Us Save Norris Castle — Trustees Wanted 🌿

We are currently forming the Norris Castle Preservation Trust, a new charitable organisation established to secure, restore and sustainably reopen Norris Castle in East Cowes for the benefit of the community and future generations.

If Norris Castle has ever been part of your life, memories or local pride, now is the time to help secure its future.

As part of the charity formation, we are inviting expressions of interest from individuals who may be able to offer professional skills and governance experience by joining us as Trustees.

We would especially welcome interest from those with experience in:

🔹 Conservation architecture / heritage surveying
🔹 Property, planning or legal (solicitor)
🔹 Finance / charity accounting / treasurer roles
🔹 Fundraising, bid writing or charity leadership
🔹 Construction / project management
🔹 Historic estates, tourism, community or education
🔹 Equestrian, agricultural or land management

Trustee role

🟢 Voluntary position
🟢 Strategic guidance (not operational workload)
🟢 Approximately 4 meetings per year
🟢 No financial commitment or personal liability
🟢 Chance to play a key role in a major heritage rescue project

This is a unique opportunity to join the founding board at the earliest stage and help shape the future direction of one of the Isle of Wight’s most important historic landmarks.

Hello everyone — and thank you for being here. 💚

For those who don’t know me, I grew up riding horses around Norris Castle and spent many happy days competing in the cross countries that were once held here. The castle has always held a very special place in my heart — it’s part of my childhood, my memories, and my dream for the future.

Over the years, I’ve watched this beautiful, historic place fall into disrepair. It’s heartbreaking — but I truly believe it can be brought back to life. My vision is to restore Norris Castle and its grounds, open it up to the public, and create a place for community, heritage, nature, and the equestrian world to come together again. 🏰🐴🌳

This page will follow that journey — from the very first steps, to the long-term dream.
