Did you catch Tadiwa on BBC Countryfile last night?

This autumn, Tadiwa will be taking on the BBC Children in Need Ramble, and we're so excited to see where the challenge takes him. 🍂

We're incredibly grateful to BBC Children in Need, whose support is helping more young people like Tadiwa connect with others who just get it, feel understood, and giving them permission to look beyond their illness. ⛵

Meet Tadiwa. You may have spotted him on BBC Countryfile Extra this evening. We're delighted to share that this autumn, he'll be taking on the BBC Children in Need Ramble. 🍂

Diagnosed with cancer aged one, Tadiwa spent much of his early childhood in hospital.

"There were so many kids I would watch play and run around, just being normal, and I would wish I was there with them. I never thought I would get out of hospital."

When Tadiwa joined us on his first sailing adventure at eight, he found something he'd been missing for years: the freedom to simply be a child. Since then, he's found friendship, understanding and other young people who know what life through and beyond cancer can be like. ⛵

The impact of cancer doesn't end when treatment does. As young people grow up, they can face new challenges at different stages of life, which is why ongoing support matters.

We're incredibly grateful to BBC Children in Need, whose funding is helping make our Under 18s adventures possible, supporting young people like Tadiwa to discover what they're capable of and realise they're not alone after cancer. 💙

This weekend, we're hosting a Gather for Good yoga fundraiser at Gurnard Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight. 🙏

It's a great example of what Gather for Good is all about: bringing people together, doing something you enjoy, and making a difference for children and young people living through and beyond cancer.

The best part? Your Gather for Good doesn't have to be yoga. It could be a lunchtime walk with colleagues, coffee and cake with friends, a crafternoon, a quiz night, or any activity that brings people together.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we're proud to be standing alongside 20 other charities as part of the Kids Get Cancer Too campaign. 🎗️

Every year, more than 4,000 children and young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. Behind every one of those diagnoses is a family facing the unimaginable and a future changed forever.

While each charity brings a different perspective and area of expertise, we're united by a shared belief: children and young people with cancer deserve to be seen, understood and supported, both during treatment and beyond.

At the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, we see the impact cancer can have long after treatment ends. We also see what's possible when young people find others who understand, discover they're not alone and begin to believe in a brighter future again. ✨

Do you want a role where your work directly helps more young people living through and beyond cancer access life-changing support?

We are recruiting a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to provide Maternity Cover for a 12 month period. The successful candidate will help support the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s growing volunteer community and be part of our East Cowes based team supporting young people aged 8-24, who are living through and beyond cancer.

Last week, ten young people headed to the Lake District for one of our return adventures, spending time together at the beautiful . With yoga, nature walks, a refreshing dip in the stream and a chance to get to know some very friendly alpacas, there was plenty of time to relax, recharge and reconnect.🦙
