🎤 With the spirit of the recognitions made during last weeks Volunteers Week, we took a moment to reflect on an impressive length of service. Trisha has been with us since 2003 💅

🪶Carers Week aims to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to both families and their communities. Not every carer sees themselves as a carer. For those who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities, Carers Week strives to help with this recognition; so that all unpaid carers feel supported and listened to.

🗓️ Save the date 2026!
This year Carers Week is all about building carer friendly communities. We’ll be highlighting the impact carer friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.

Carer friendly communities are places, spaces, services and community groups where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, and valued. They make support part of everyday life ensuring carers get the opportunities and help they need.

Together we’re building carer friendly communities that support carers in every area of their lives.

By adding your name you’ll be part of a movement to better support carers across the UK.

Our volunteers hold stories that are not often told, because to them, they are nothing extraordinary. We end out social media series with one final story; one that highlights that no day at WDCAB is the same as the last.

We can't say it enough: Thank You to all of our volunteers. Past, present and future.

It was only right that we did something special to celebrate Volunteers Week.
Thank you to everyone who came this afternoon, to our CEO Joe who presented awards recognising long-service and our administrator Kaye for organising lunch as well as our tokens of appreciation. A huge thank you also goes out to Craigend Nursery, Cardross for their generosity - gifting us freshly grown flowering Thyme ("Thank You For Your Thyme" gifts) as their contribution to the CAB service.

"A trustee is held to something stricter than the morals of the market place. Not honesty alone, but the punctilio of an honour the most sensitive, is then the standard of behaviour."

This week, we want to share a targeted Thank you to our Trustees - some of our board members are also current or former advisors. The role they play is not often put under a spotlight, but without them, we would simply not be able to function.

Another story for Volunteers Week 2026.

Life can interrupt our plans and best intentions; what we make of that is up to us.

WDCAB couldn't be without you, and no effort or strain is overlooked. Some volunteering opportunities deliver an immediate return on investment. Others have a bit more of a journey to them. We couldn't be more grateful to you for being on this journey with us.
