I’m taking over Mentor Scotland’s social media this week 👋

Got a question about me, Mentor Scotland or the work we do? Fire it my way.

Tomorrow night at 8pm is our final cold water therapy session of the year at Duck Bay 🌊

You don’t need to enter the water. Bring a chair, come along and be part of the conversation. It would be great to see you there 💙

Let’s continue the conversation and end the stigma attached to mental health.

Mental health support doesn’t always have to look the same.

Sometimes it’s talking.
Sometimes it’s walking.
Sometimes it’s getting in the water.
Sometimes it’s simply being around people who understand.

At Mentor Scotland, we create opportunities for people to connect, feel supported and take that first step in a way that feels right for them.

Respect • Care • Nurture

Thinking about coming along to Mentor Scotland, but feeling anxious or scared about taking that first step? 💙

We understand. Walking into a new place and meeting new people can feel daunting, especially when you are already struggling with your mental health.

You don’t need to know what to say, share your story or speak before you feel ready. You can come along, have a cuppa, listen and take everything at your own pace. There is no judgement and no pressure.

Sometimes walking through the door is the hardest part. However, taking that step could help you find connection, understanding and peer support from people who may have faced similar challenges.

If you’re thinking about coming along, message us beforehand. We can explain what to expect and help make that first step feel a little easier.

If it’s on your mind, you don’t have to carry it alone. We’re proud to be part of a West Dunbartonshire community that continues to show up for one another. 💙

📣 MEN’S TALKING GROUP FACILITATORS WANTED

We’re looking for men who are passionate about mental health, recovery and helping others move forward to join our Mentor Scotland facilitation team.

Our groups currently run:

💙 Want to see people grow, reconnect and get better?
💙 Can you give us two evenings out of every four?

Then we’d love to hear from you.

Come and join us tonight for a wee dip or just a blether round the fire. We’ve been seeing some amazing connections being made at this group in recent weeks and long may it continue.

Morning everyone, it’s looking lovely out there for the start to the week and hopefully you all get a chance to enjoy it.

I’m here all week on social media and I’d like to take this opportunity to say how grateful I am to be a part of this amazing group. We set out with a mission to try and end the stigma attached to mental health and although there’s still a long way to go, we’ve made a significant impact in the local community and beyond.

More people are opening up, guys are coming along and being vulnerable, people are realising it’s okay to talk about feelings, and society in general is becoming more accepting of people sharing how they feel.

I’d like to ask people in the comments if they’re comfortable sharing, what impact Mentor Scotland has had on you or someone you know (please keep it confidential if sharing about someone else).

We’ve had some incredible feedback recently and we are all very proud of what we’re doing to help.

Let’s keep the conversation going and End the Stigma attached to mental health 💙

A new week is coming, but you don’t need to have everything figured out before it begins 🤍

Use today to reset — not put pressure on yourself.
Clear your mind.
Let go of what didn’t go to plan.
Rest your body.
Take some time away from the noise.
Do something that makes you feel like you again.

You can’t change the week that’s passed, but you can step into the next one with a little more kindness towards yourself.

✨ Rest. Reflect. Reset.

Whatever this week brings, take it one day at a time.

Wishing you all a wholesome Sunday 💙

A massive thank you to Sean Lavery and all the guys involved in the George Lavery Memorial Trophy night at The Laughing Fox.

I’ve seen some of the clips and footage from the evening and it looked like an amazing night.

To top it all off, the guys raised an incredible £500 for Mentor Scotland.

We’re really thankful for the support and for everyone who took part, donated and helped make the night such a success.

Every donation helps us continue providing peer support and safe spaces for people across our community.

Let’s continue the conversation and end the stigma attached to mental health. 💙
